In my opinion if that is him it's quite a compliment to Martin for his success of disco3.co.uk to have some of the top bods at Land Rover monitoring the site

Marmite - Hate it, closest I've come in recent years was something similar looking stuck to the off-side front edge of my Mantec plate after Salisbury "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Back on topic - I'm openminded about the new look - need to see it in the flesh TBH - if it is true, then i'm also impressed that the D3 Chief Designer decided to join in the debate about the new look in public. I think he should be thoroughly ashamed to convey what may be reasoned argument from his and LR's perspective in such a poor manner.

The bible explains things in a poor manner ...but people still believe eh
...thank the lord I'm an atheist !21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Bearing in mind that the most popular accessory for the D3 is the chrome door mirror cappings, it's not a huge surprise to find that the mind-life 'spruce' revolves around smartening up the exterior. As has been pointed out earlier in this thread, most D3s never make it off the tarmac, so what had previously been distinguished between platforms is now being down within the platform on trim levels.
Personally, I find that the unpainted plastic underscores the utility of the vehicle, breaks up the impression of size and hides panel gaps. I'd like to think that on a later replacement, I'd be paying more for some further development on performance driven by experience rather than questionable aesthetics driven by accessory sales. Has anyone else noticed how the paint rubs off the top of the rear bumpers of FL2's used regularly. They look shockingly tatty very quickly. They might be easy to repair but the point is, I don't have to constantly repair my D3, still looks great after years of hard work.
I can understand awheels point about having to accommodate the sophisticated style demands of the US market, bling merchants and Mums from Chelsea but after seeing the "worst case" silver one in the flesh, I still think it's totally ruined the purity and very clever design clues of the original.
However, I'm not going to get upset anymore - no one's forcing me to buy a new one.

all credit for awheel for clarifying the response and joining in on the thread.
Appreciate that comments about your "children" are difficult to hear.
We all love the car! Just a matter of taste for the changes
Now back to the concept of heads on sticks at the factory...all we need is a few names responsable for ..EPB....front diff.....manual clutch......................
"its probably a virus, you'll be right as rain in a few days and if you're playing sport try to favour the other leg"
The more pictures I see the more I like it, even in silver. LR could loose the orange from the front indicators, and fit some stormer like 'ice' rear lens.
I'd buy one.
