Ouch ! I was almost disappointed that my New disco would have the "old" look... after those pics, I felt somewhat better. This one is due for change latest April 2011 (3 years lease), so perfectly in time for the hybrid version ? ("plain" diesel my be quite a tacky concept by then ;+) ) If so, I may already pencil in the order visit to my LR beloved dealer.... if I find an agenda strechching over to Mid 2010... and If I'm still alive by then...A second D3 ! This time with all whistles and bells (Auto, 7seats, Diff Lock, RAI, all kinds of protections, winch, Extended range tank, iPod adapter....)
First time twice the same car ! and first time third car of the same brand !
I'm loving it !

awheel: "My opinion is that silver/white are the worst colours for bodycolouring Disco. The car at Geneva is a 'worst case' scenario..."
Then why almost all the press and publicity photos are featuring silver Discos? Amazing that a LR designer says that, why then the whole black/silver combination that so many manufacturers copied afterwards? I myself chose Zambezi because of the cool black/silver contrast. Even the new BMW X5 has a black/silver front bumper... and black wheel arches... And THAT does definitely not have a 'van-like' image ...

Silver is favoured for vehicle imagery due to the fact it shows off the curves and cut lines very well without having too much or too little shadow or contrast on the body work.
In the glaring lights of a trade show, its not the best colour to use... as awheel says, its the worst colour to use. There is little to no control of how the surfaces look.
The photographer and touch up artists can control what you are looking at 100% of the time... the trade show allows little to no control by the designer.
That Bimmer picture is sooo touched up. Just like every other PR shot you see.
