Hello again.
I'm glad that we're all so passionate about this vehicle - I certainly am.
I know it is a 'Marmite' car - love it or hate it..there is no middle ground. By owning the cars and being on this forum all of you have made the choice to invest hard earned cash into a unique machine.
Looks like I need to clarify a few things....
Bottom line is this - the changes we see on the Geneva car are intended to widen the appeal and address feedback from markets/customers.
it is all about choice....the new bumpers could have been defined in a way that prevented unpainted arches but that would have been the wrong thing to do. The feedback was that painted parts were preferred from a repair/insurance rating prespective and would vastly improve the Disco in relation to the competition. Nothing in this price range has unpainted panels.
The comment about 'predictability' was misinterpreted...what it was referring to was the fact that all change is highly scrutineered and it is generally perceived that LR will be 'diluting' its character and capability. Please believe me that there is a huge passion for all our products within LR. This website is well read by LR people.
Also.....reading the comments, it can sometimes be a bit like someone looking at your kids and calling them ugly to your face! That's how passionate LR people are.
I've not encountered that at any other firm....
As for EPB, I can't comment on that - but I bet people who can are taking feedback from here and acting on it.

Thanks for that... I love Marmite
Maybe you could entertain the idea of some of us seeing the new style up close (not in silver though pleease) before next year ?
Ken and crews have been to the show but most of us would relish the idea of a personal look in the wonderful English light we have here
Getting a close up look and also speaking to someone who can take us round the D3 would be fantastic.

I would agree with you JMC but as soon as the connection is made then we are back to customer mode which ever way you look at it.
I would agree with you, but.........
I don't see myself as a customer of the design team. I've never been to Gaydon. If this chap can't talk on here like the rest of us then there is no hope.
awheel - nail me to the cross and shout obscenities at me. I don't consider your comments to be anything more than honest and made from a personal standpoint.
DG - if you want everybody who has an official LR connection to come here and pander to your sense of being a 'customer', then perhaps your dealer has been blowing smoke for too long. Not all customers are the same. I much prefer someone talking straight and telling me truths, than simply suggesting in flowery marketing language that there is a celestial corona round my ass and would I like another coffee whilst I get but-f d in buying a new one. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom
