Geoff - if you're going back around to chaise Mac and seeing that his is a 2006, then you'll probably find that there IS updated software available in FFL - check the EAS settings and if his is still the AB level then you should be update it to AC
We have and indeed it does require an update, but as those have stated it works fine on the old Module software. Geoff is gonna try it out himself before updating mine as time was short for him and not aware how long the update would last.
The only fault my D3 should this time was Historical/Low Pressure EAS, which now is cleared and my D3 now has a clean bill of health.
Lee - Not had chance to strip the old unit down, I did remove the Black cover plate to see if the Piston arm had'nt broken up like BuellBeasts, but thats fine. It moves freely and very easy to which I thought there should be resistance as its connected to a Piston. I will strip at the weekend out of curiosity.

Mine is a 2006 MY06 and I updated the EAS software to version AC about a month ago.
Seems to raise/lower much more evenly now and the suspension feels somewhat firmer than before (also confirmed by another guy from the Spanish forum who has a MSV-2).
I haven't been able to compare the gallery pressures etc, but I can confirm that the suspension software update is a quick one and takes around 4-5 minutes tops 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Cheers Paul, thats reassuring. Your Heads up triggered Geoff to look at mine, although he was already aware that he had the update. Like I mentioned he's travelling North today and he was unsure how long it took. Rest assured it will be done over the festive period.
One thing I have learnt, the Faultmate is becoming such a valuable tool for a aging D3, it does'nt fix a broken part, but certainly points you accuratly to where to work. The D3's may be getting cheaper to buy, but a dealers labour charge I saved fixing myself has gone a long way to saving for a personal one myself.

what EAS soft version is now faultmate showing on your Paul?
mine has been updated by dealer in april but still shows:
LEGACY ASSEMBLY NUMBER: 6H22-5A919-AB (AIR SUSPENSION, V6DIESEL)
the only change was that in
SOFTWARE NUMBER there is now 6H22-14D394-AC (was NNV504760 before)
in the available assemblies in the MSV I see
NNW507210
6H22-5A919-AC
8H2M-5A919-AA
8H2M-5A919-AB
none of the actually matches the soft I had before or after dealers update - so I am a bit confused if I should update it myslef or rather not.2013 D4 TDV6 S; Baltic Blue; IID Tool BT

It looks like you're update to date evo8
The original software built into your EAS ECU was 6H22-5A919-AB (the same as mine was) - this doesn't get changed when the software is updated.
I updated mine to 6H22-5A919-AC, but the Legacy Assembly Number still shows the previous AB version. The Software Version field is showing correctly the newer AC level.
I think you'll find that NNW507210 is the same as 6H22-5A919-AB (try right-clicking the assembly number and choosing "Display Ford if available"). 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

It can get confusing as the LEGACY ASSY NUMBER is what was programmed to the ECU when it left the factory and I think is hardcoded into the ECU.
The Assembly number is the combination of hardware and software. Obviously if they updated the level of a component part (the software in this case), then although the hardware number stays the same, the overall aseembly level must also be incremented.
Apart from the Hardware, the Assembly also contains the software...in this case it contains an EXE (which is really the bit we want to change) and then a small SBL (Secondary Boot Loader) file that is exectued by the PBL in the ECU to load the new software in. The SBL never really changes or gets updated as it's just a "helper" file.
Mine is showing the same as yours evo8 - the Legacy Assy Number shows the original as-built version number, but the software number has been updated to 6H22-14D394-AC 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

If it makes you feel any better, this was the simplified explanation Bodsy
It's not really that difficult to understand at all to be honest, but when you've got loads of different numbers (all similar) floating around in your head, then it's difficult to get them down correctly in a quick post 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

The seat itself will go in any car with belts, it's only the base you've got which is ISOFIX only.
