*Pub Advice Alert* I thought it was actually against some sort of regulation to have an ISOFIX only seat? I thought all ISOFIX seats *had* to have the ability to be fitted with normal belts - as in Martin's example, just ditch the base...
As I say... could be nonsense... certainly all the ones that I saw that were ISOFIX also had the ability to use in a normal car.2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Wow, what a long thread.... took me ages to catch up.
The software update is to prolong the life of the compressor, I read somewhere about it reducing the maximum pressure to be kind on the compressor, thus extending the life.
The Landrover book time for renew the compressor is.... wait for it......0.4hr.. so you should have had it done before your cup of tea went cold!! In truth, about a hour is fair, once you encounter siezed pipe fittings & broken cover bolts, & a shovel full of mud inside the covers.
Talking of new compressors, of those that has had a new one recently, have you noticed they are more noisy, especially when they reach pressure & go pffft when shutting off? I have noticed newer ones to be more noisy than the originals?

My NEW one is much noisier than the prevous one (when it was working).
Totally agree with the timings, I recon I could do mine agian in about 90mins on the pavement, without lifts. The problem I had was really trying to remove the seized pipes. The bolts were fine, top bolt a tad difficult but with the right tool easy enough.
My software will be updated soon, Geoff tells me it speeds up the raising and seems to be in approval. SO I have to get mine done soonest.

Boner, if you read more carefully you'd realise you can have the baby seat, and a baby, but you need the software update to tell the baby seat there's a baby fitted which takes 90 minutes, I think

It can get confusing as the LEGACY ASSY NUMBER is what was programmed to the ECU when it left the factory and I think is hardcoded into the ECU.
The Assembly number is the combination of hardware and software. Obviously if they updated the level of a component part (the software in this case), then although the hardware number stays the same, the overall aseembly level must also be incremented.
Apart from the Hardware, the Assembly also contains the software...in this case it contains an EXE (which is really the bit we want to change) and then a small SBL (Secondary Boot Loader) file that is exectued by the PBL in the ECU to load the new software in. The SBL never really changes or gets updated as it's just a "helper" file.
Mine is showing the same as yours evo8 - the Legacy Assy Number shows the original as-built version number, but the software number has been updated to 6H22-14D394-AC
Cos I'm still trying to get to grips with the version numbers etc...

accidentally I have came accross measuring the switch off pressures for the compressor - and even with this new software it seems to switch off at 1770kpa (the same as with the old software). Has anyone observed similar behaviour or is yours switching off earlier (which would mean that my software is not the last one although it seems like it is).2013 D4 TDV6 S; Baltic Blue; IID Tool BT
