Stop being a drama queen, I,ve done the same job a couple of times on my drive with no problem. Would have been more hassle taking it to work where I have full workshop facilities Thumbs Up

Mac, did you have to update your software for the new compressor?

As Ent said, fair play to having a go at it Thumbs Up

Bodsy works in IT. It's the default option after "turn it off and turn it on again" to ask the client to spend more money on a software upgrade.

There was mention previously of a software update for the new compressors. Don't know if it had substance to it or not Confused

No, it plugged in an nothing at 1st, then remembered Geoff had put it into access mode..I flicked the switch half expecting nothing and the pump did its job. Took ages mind cos the air tank was empty.

I am off tomorrow to get the Faultmate hooked up, just to make sure everything is ticketyboo...But so far so good, remembering I had also changed the o/s/r height sensor which now I think was a red herring, but the faultmate and Geoff soon calibrated that.

OK.....I've been resisted my Mac-baiting all day Whistle

1. Mac - this is a very easy job and no need for 10 pages of explanations when a single post would have done

2. Despite this - I'm with Ent....it's all too easy to pay someone else to do simple stuff so well done for doing it yourself Thumbs Up

Geoff - if you're going back around to chaise Mac and seeing that his is a 2006, then you'll probably find that there IS updated software available in FFL - check the EAS settings and if his is still the AB level then you should be update it to AC Thumbs Up

I take that as a Gringo compliment Paul. I would certainly have sent the D3 to a dealer, but none were available in my area with slots before xmas. Like you said, once you know how it aint difficult, so if I had to do it again I would - For Myself, it aint a nice job but the outcome makes it more worthwhile.

I have a great friend with Geoff, his enthusiasm in sorting my D3 persuaded myself to fix it and if I failed then at least I tried.

Just grateful that despite I can be a bit annoying people can help my family in getting the D3 moving again, to which I am humbled by.

For once it was actually a compliment Mac Laughing Thumbs Up Laughing

Seriously - these types of jobs are really much more straightforward than they seem and your (rather elongated) thread will encourage other people to get their spanners out and sort it out themselves so good for you Thumbs Up

Laughter and tears across the land, aye, I'd say it's been worthwhile Laughing

And Ent's right - takes balls to start taking a D3 apart Thumbs Up
