I have the same wheel/tyre combo as RonP and mine rub also, however, if you read through all the previous thread on this extensive subject you will find that somewhere along the line LR changed the shape of the end of the chassis rails, around MY07 I think, and they now protrude into the wheel are further. This is what the 285/50's will be rubbing on at full lock.
Also, LR must have changed the upper part of the suspension arm as the gap is very very tight and you may donk it when the suspension is fully articulated, ie, off road with one front wheel in the air, or while jacking the vehicle up.
The 275/45 is the better option on a later model vehicle, however these weren't available when we first fitted LTZ's.
It's all here if you can be bothered to either ask the right questions or spend an hour reading.

RIGHT!!
I've just bought these..
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...amp;_rdc=1
With a 53 offset..

And i have put on these...
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic53793.html

Onto my 06 S model... They do not rub the suspension arm but only have 3mm clearence.
These tyres are part worn so brand new ones would probably rub. The 3mm is a little to close for comfort for me som i,m right now Laser Profiling (which is what my company does) some 5mm spacers out of s275 steel and getting them zinc plated hich will solve the problem. With these on there is still enough room for the tyre on full lock to miss everything else..
Give me a shout if anyone else want a set at just the steel cost...

Laser profiles and zinc plated 6mm spacers and put the behind the wheel. They fit fine now with a gap of about 8mm. She drives fine lock to lock and 5mm spacers wont cause any problems or affect wheels bearing what so ever Laughing

Hi Doc,

Thanks for the updates - im stuck ont eh horns of a dilemma!

Do i stick with my 18's and AT2's or put on my Coopers and 20's I just bought off Bigcarpurchaser?????

How much for the spacers?

Im lead to believe that my 05 D3 will have a bit more room?

Cheers,

Dave

I can't comment on the room on a 05 depends on how big the offset is on th wheels you have bought..
