They were part of creating that timetable as well, seems odd that they are not saying what is causing the delay.

Given that almost 62% didn't express a wish to leave, surely they should be focussing on working together.

I understand that the delay will be due to the call for new powers to England. Cameron wants to work on this together with the new powers for Scotland pledge. Milliband will not comply due to the amount of MP's of Scottish persuasion he would maybe lose being able to vote on issues in Westminster that effect only England. UKip have written to 54 Scottish MP's apparently asking them not to vote on English issues.

It would be a miracle to have been able to have the Scots Devo worked on and passed within the time limit as is....add to that working on an England Devo alongside it tells us that there is no way Cameron can deliver his pledge/vow to the Scots in the agreed time frame. To most in the UK that would be fair enough. These things should not be rushed into without considering all the circumstances and consequences for all concerned....Scotland....and also now England.

To those in Scotland who voted YES it will be seen as a move by Cameron to drag his feet on delivering his promises to Scotland. He will have known that Milliband and labour would not be happy to rush into a deal for England that effectively weakens their position in any future general election.

To those undecided voters who were swayed into voting no by Cameron's offer of a swift delivery of new powers for Scotland they will feel pretty aggrieved if the promises and time frame are not kept to.

Seems the protests were over reported with fires, stabbing a etc.

Official police reports show this didn't happen, there were about 100 on each side and it was mostly over by 9pm.

You will always get morons, but it does seem quite a small gathering.

No fires, appart from saltires being burnt, there were flares being set off. No stabbings, there were assaults and bigoted chanting........wherever the only about 100 on each side info came from it is wrong.......and people were still at it well past 11pm all around the square.

Morons on both sides is spot on, on this occasion the unionist/loyalist mob instigated it.......Tomorrow the other lot will probably instigate something....and on it goes. Pathetic no life neds. Rolling Eyes

Well a friend of mine in the know down in Glasgow told me that the trouble was mostly between Rangers and Celtic supporters, the Rangers being pro Union and the Celtic being pro Independence.

I'm not Brown's greatest fan either but I have to agree, his speech was outstanding. I watched it on Wednesday and it's all power, passion and belief. Might he have been a better lead for the No campaign?

It's not 55 minutes though is it, I thought it was about 15 minutes?

SWMBO made a little observation/question. She wondered if he was now going to aim for First Minister after the next SP.
