Half an hour ago I was phoned by the Doctors surgery.
"The Doctor wonders if you could make a routine appointment to have your bloods taken?"
Slightly surprised I said, yes, no problem, when do you want me in?
"Next August, he wants it done on your birthday month."
You mean in 11 months?
"Yes, August 2015"
WTF! Can I make an appointment now?
"No"
Will you contact me nearer the date?
"No"
Okay, I will try to remember .........
Is that bizarre or what?

A friend needed a full medical for a job he was about to do,and the Doctor asked him how much he drank..." A lot less than you" he replied......he passed.... 
I got my blood pressure taken last month, and was asked if I wanted bloods done....it's just for cholesterol and blood-sugar levels,to see if youre in the diabetes-risk zone....got called back for the blood-sugar reading,but the re-test reading was a lot lower.... 
I think I got a letter a couple of weeks before.....11 months does seem a bit extreme "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool,than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

It was all I could do to stop myself laughing tbh.
I'd only had my bloods checked in July - maybe he'd got my birthday month wrong or couldn't count.
Anyway, my blood sugar we're slightly high. The good Doctor asked me if I had fasted before they had been taken. I told him no, no one had told me to. He said had the person taking them asked if I'd fasted and I said no, he finally asked me who'd taken them, I told him YOU.
Didn't ask me any other questions after that or want to redo the test. Wouldn't mind but he's a near neighbour. Suprised he didn't ask me my name despite my eldest has been for a sleep over with his son.
