There are just too many unknowns at present for anyone to make anything other than a 'gut instinct' or heartfelt decision when voting which, I fear, is no way to run a country/Union/Democracy.
I think I'm with you.....

But why won't he have a public debate with Eck?
I think it could be a really positive step for Cameron to show us Scots that he still loves us?
He never loved us, never will....he tolerates us....nothing more. He won't debate the issues because he doesn't know or care enough about the issues in Scotland to mount a convincing debate as to why Scotland should remain part of the Union. Just my opinion.

Can't help thinking of an old ABC song from 'Lexicon of Love', (Maybe 'Poison Arrow'?):
'I care enough to know I will never love you'
I think Cameron does care about the UK, for whatever reason, but is savvy enough to know that he will not be able to persuade the 'Yes' voters that he cares about them more than Wee Eck.
I understand where you are coming from Wee-Guy, and suspect that we have somewhat differing views but agree on the background behind much of it. Were Labour in power with a Scottish PM (not Brown or Blair please!) then the debate would have been more worthwhile and, arguably, more credible. However, and as I said earlier, Cameron is not going to do anything other than harm the No camp by getting involved in a slanging match with Wee Eck even though he is PM of the UK.
Frankly, I just wish they would get the whole issue over with so we can start to move on, whatever the outcome Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

The issues can be set forth by anyone, and to a large extent should be the only thing the voters are concerned by.
A 'leaders debate' makes a personality contest out of what will be a very long-lived decision.
I can agree with the merits of a leaders debate in the context of a general election as it is getting a flavour of those who will set the course of the next 5 years or so.
That is not the case with an independence vote however. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

I'm no fan of Wee Eck....or the SNP for that matter....I would like to see Scotland stand on it's own two feet as an independant nation. The SNP are only a means to an end as far as I am concerned.

It won't be an independent nation though.
It will be beholden to either then RUK or EU (Germany) as it will not have its own currency and will not therefore have control over its fiscal policy. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

I just can't see their being any winners if Scotland gains independence. Is it so bad now that we need a drastic breaking up.
