But as They are owned by 'Us' ... we must be in line for a nice pay-out soon as the bankers did not take their bonus this year.. bless (it would not happen in London.. they need to spend £10K on train tickets, £500k on a 2 bed flat, 5k on capofrapochinolates etc.... and How Much! for the 'Congestion charge!'
Perhaps we could export our legal system with no leasehold and gazumping.. etc...1 TR6 Rusting away quietly

Sorry, but as a separate state, it all relies on slagging off the English. No wonder the majority of English want rid of Scotland, we are all fed up with the moaning. Get with the programme and just be careful what you wish for, because if it comes true, there's no turning back. Personally, I'd rather have what I know and what I have, not something intangible, which the bottom will probably fall out of. Bit of a gamble IMHO, but you want it, go for it.
I doubt very much the majority of the 'wise' English people would want rid of Scotland, or rid of any of the other members of the Union for that matter......Left to it's own devices England would struggle, if that were not the case Cameron would not be trying to persuade Scotland to vote no on the 18th Sept.

It seems rather pathetic to state, as many have, 'because you say [negative comment] I will vote for independence'. Would it not be better to base the decision on varied information, debate and (dare I say it) facts, rather than on a huffy feeling?

I'll keep the whisky tax eh?

But we'll have to pay for it...and it is much, much more expensive than regular electricity generation. At the moment, Scotland gets 30%+ of the subsidy for green energy with <10% of the usage.
Of course, Alex Salmond reckons we'll continue as now, but why would the RUK subsidise Scottish energy suppliers?

New Oil reserves are coming on stream soon..off the West coast.. mmm nice.. We could be like Alaska.. rich in natural resources... and give everyone a nice Sum just for living here every year...
The projections I've seen have Scotland continuing a budget deficit rather than surplus.

Oh and did I mention Our Oils and the fact that we have 3 of the 4 clearing banks in the UK... so we might be nice and allow Trigger to still use our £ pound sterling
There are 5* bank members of the C&CCC (assuming that's what you mean by clearing banks - it not being that well defined). The one you probably forgot was the Bank of England.
Of course, C&CCC is an English registered entity. And the Cheque clearing centre is in/near Birmingham
Oh.
* actually, there are 11 (3 are Scottish) but the point about the BoE and C&CCC stands.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Personally im a democrat, so if the Scottish people decide they want independence, then fair play to you all go with my blessing.
I have family, friends, suppliers and customers who I can barely understand but they all add to the richness of my life, and I hope, little will change, post referendum.
I intensely dislike the tribalism wee eck is building (just look at this thread amongst friends) and I fear he may be stoking the fire for his own Marxist ends.
I fervently hope that one day a certain, much maligned peoples, be given the smallest chance to say a few words.
Those quiet band of brothers who have suffered a lot recently.
Can we see the English maybe have a vote??
Maybe European issues, ties with USA, our increasing overseas aid budget?
I love the freedoms the Scots, Welsh etc have, and its only right their identities are allowed to flourish but why not us?
Are we not allowed?
So lets stop all the bollix and distaste on this thread - im a very proud Englishman and wish those north of the border the very best whatever you decide.
