Can anybody please tell me which camera I need if I activate the CCF and do this hack? I'm getting confused with all the options, I believe I need a NTSC type either CCD or CMOS or CMOS+? Also are there any with better night time performance and should they come with or without guidelines?

Cheers

I should be able to let you know after the weekend. Have CCD NTSC installed in number plate light, just waiting on fakra cable to connect camera output to screen. I also have a MOST box for VIM and an alpine IPod interface so I don't think I need the CCF modified as with these in place when I select reverse the screen switches - now just need to connect that video input.......

gone back to D3 software as screen was a bit too dim now its (was) sunnier days

only ever have the 4x4 or nav screen anyway, and although it was nice to have touchscreen radio, I use the steering wheel controls anyway...

but the Link is behind the driver knee trim, if I feel the need to revert back to RR mode Thumbs Up

Ok, CCD and NTSC works perfect for me. No lines but camera was an eBay one and, with cable from the site shop, all up under £25. I think CCF would need to be edited for most people. Mine didn't but that appears to be because I have installed the veh-in motion box from ICD.

Thanks SantiD3 and AJP001 for the help and feedback Very Happy

Ordered the CCD camera from Hids4U and the cables from here to occupy the 3 'plugs' at the back of the screen Smile oh and a 'tool' to modify the ccf to allow automatic switching.

Next question is can I modify the ccf to activate the TV input? Reason for this is because I'm making a iPod/ iPhone interface from which I could use an AV feed.... And would I need to convertthe iPod feed to NTSC or not?? I'm not fussed about on the "on the move" function as it's only for when I'm waiting for SWMBO.

For longer journeys the front seat passenger will have an iPad & bluetooth headset to play with using a marine wifi hotspot with sim card as well...

Cheers

Guy

You can activate the tv button ... But it would stay "grayed" out until it sees the tv module fitted
