You don't need any secret access ... Brightness can be adjusted via the settings to a reasonable levelG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

If I install a switch to effectively cut/rejoin wire No 4, can I then switch between D3/FFRR modes at will, or only when the car is 'asleep'
Also . . . didn't the FFRR also have a menu for FBH functionality via the screen - can this also be enabled (or is that an emotive subject) Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k
previous vehicles:
04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE
various euro boxes !
if you enable the reversing camera ...then it will work automatically when in RR mode
by automatic do you mean you do not have to go through the hidden button routine every time you put it into reverse ?

you can switch it when you want ...but you would have to lock up the car ..let it go to sleep ..then open up the car before it would change
fbh ...very early models did i believe ....its not something thats enabled ...it would be there on early software ( if it didnt have the updates in 2005/2006 )G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Just finished the MOD with switch!
Wiggs if you are listening in can I bug you? I use the secret button and 753 on the D3 to get video (ipod/tab) can I do this from RR mode or only when in D3? also if I buy a cheap rear camera from fleabay will the RR mode allow it to display when i select reverse or do I have to visit you to get the CCF rewrite?
I got you to reprogram my bluetooth module at the Peterborough LRO , on the RR mode the phone book does not work will this always be the case or is it just cause I have a stupid IPHONE!! (ok before anyone takes offence I have had IPHONE's from the start great gadget but rubbish phone now have 32g 4gs!)
just want to thank you WIGGS for all your hard work and I am wondering how the hell you figured out this MOD?? you are clearly a genius and LR could learn a thing or two from you and others on this site!!
MANY THANKS Stevie J

753 still works ...
the home button is swapped round in range rover mode ....so do the invisible button thing ..then press and hold the RIGHT hand hard button to complete it
Camera ...it would need it enabling in the ccf ....you need to buy a NTSC camera ..as thats the factory setting for the camera
phone book
no idea why its not working on the screen ...perhaps and older version of the software for the screen needs updating .
as said earlier ...the sceen and radio can get confused and its dosent know where to show the contacts .
I do know that the latest bluetooth modules ( D4 / RRSport 2010 ) do work and force the contacts on the screenG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Sorted!!
will leave it in RRmode
as long as I remeber not to touch the cd button onscreen as per a previous post, this seems to kill the switches on steering wheel and the main unit.
Display is not that dim acually and it seems to have cure my start up flicker anyway
shame I aint got a phone connected but maybe next?
left a length of twin core wire that is connected to the 'cut' wire on the switch panel, of which the insulated ends are behind the drivers knee panel for quick acces for reconnection if I feel the need to go back to D3 mode...
cant see why as I usually have the screen on the 4x4screen anyway
4 small screws later and the 2 buttons have been swapped over so they correspond to their markings
Cheers Wiggs and thanks for your help on the Blue tooth kit, I will be back to you on that when I have done that overtime
