But everything is switchable via the CCF editing,4x4, rear camera, headrest screens etc no need to snip wires? I did not, just activated with Nanocom/Genesis and that is it, but camera is poor, so now mine is wired to my aftermarket Kenwood ICE unit..Mine 2005 se manual. Cheers.2005 D3 2.7 TDV6 SE+

Great!
If your have and IID Tool, update the head unit screen and your 4x4 Info will be updated at the latest layout

Can you share how to update it with IID tool? I couldn't find it in the GAP menu...
Before the change my 4x4 info screen had more icons, now is less.

I can reply to myself
So 4x4 info screen is updated together with Nav on the move mod done with IID tool.
But please read manual before you start as not every screen can be updated.

Resurrecting the brightness fix
I've done the RR mod (thanks to all for the info in the threads) just after getting the car in Feb this year, and have picked up a D4 touchsreen to go in when I get the inclination
I thought I would have a go at the brightness fix 1st, as like tinkering, so have got the relevant bits ready to try making a kit. If I'm successful, is there anyone still interested in having a kit as I've got enough bits to make 5 units in total. Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

Success with the brightness fix, what a difference! I went down the original route that Wiggs did with the sensor by the A pillar on the passenger side, but will probably modify it to the integrated version that Panoramix did later on.
I love this forum, lol, it gives me so many ideas to empty my wallet. Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

@PPETKOV I have sent you a PM. I don't think Panoramix is doing them any more, but I'm sure he will say if he is.
In the meantime, I've made up a couple of kits for myself and a couple of forum members, so could possibly do a couple more if there is still demand.
I've now upgraded my screen to a D4/RRS one as they are cheap enough on Ebay, and made a harness to convert from D3 to D4 plug and one to use the camera connection and TV Fakra via the 6 pin D4 plug.

Just finished fitting the brightness fix kit from skunk38. I can say only the best about him and the kit! The kit came nicely packaged and with clear instructions

The kit is actually brilliantly made and there is zero soldering needed - just plug one plug and two wires

Used some hot glue to fix the sensor to the bezel

By the time I finished it was already dark outside. Was really nice to see that screen reacts to brightess adjustment wheel for the instrument cluster. Nice surprise - it actually dims enough that you dont have to switch the screen off at night. Now lets see if it gets bright enough to see the reverse camera during daytime…
EDIT:
Yup, daytime perfect too
