D4 Bluetooth module install successful. |
|
Today I took the last bits of the 0000 Bluetooth pairing harness out of my 2005 LR3 and now have a completed Wiggs D4 Bluetooth module install with everything back to together, both looking and sounding good.
I have phone book on the display; I can dial a number by pushing either the right hand round knob or that call button on the right side of the radio plus I can dial a number on the keypad now.
My BlackBerry 9900 auto pairs just a couple of seconds after engine start, and if someone calls me, my voice reply is heard on the first connect. Previously, more often than not with the 9900, it would take two calls before all would function correctly.
My older 9630 was generally OK, but the newer 9900 tended to be a problem and is what forced me to look for alternatives. I figure I now have myself future proofed for a couple of years and if problems start again because of newer equipment, I trust Wiggs will already have a solution.
I never really did solve the problem of my IHU needing power to its C2115-10 pin. In the end, as I could not figure out how to alter the operation of the internal IHU mute circuit, I ran 12VDC from the same source as I powered the D4 module, F58P, to the C2115-10 pin and quit worrying why no one else seems to have to do that.
Now, the next project is to get the Clock on the Dash and then Nav on the Move; after that, a tailgate camera. I hope by then, someone will have figured out how to get the tailgate camera to auto display with the GVIF unit. 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

Hi, Just signed up to this forum & found your long list of Q&A's on non phonebook display etc. Hopefully I fall into your area of expertise. I have just purchased an April 06 reg Disco 3 HSE auto. Would I be correct in thinking that either a D3 updated module exchange or a D4 module exchange would both do the same job giving me the capability of thumbing through the phone book from the dial on the radio unit or, using voice control from the steering wheel. Also, would the phone book memory remain once paired using 2121 code. If my assumptions are correct, please advice which model is best suited & how do I get one using your exchange service.
Many thanks

I think a little more information is required prior to someone knowledgeable answering the post.
Does your 3 currently have any sort of Bluetooth currently installed? If so, what is the pairing code, 0000 or 2121?
What "radio" do you have installed? Is it the the 6 CD unit with the phone number pad on the left hand side?
Do you have the NAV display?
Given that your 3 is the HSE, it probably has Bluetooth with the 2121 pairing code, the 6CD radio head and the NAV display. If so, the D3 module would be a simple plug and play sort of install but Wiggs would know best and he is the person to contact. 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

That was fast I must say. Being on the proper side of the pond does help it appears.
Please keep us informed of your progress - we are always interested.
It is actually pretty impressive to beable to upgrade ones vehicle to the newer norms - keeps them from getting old I would say.
I am most impressed with the operation of my D4 Bluetooth; it is a good as in the new vehicles. I do not have to make any apologies for the erratic operation my Bluetooth any longer. 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

I currently own a 2006 LR3 HSE North American with bluetooth pairing 2121, the 6 disc Radio with the phone pad on the left hand side and with navigation.
I am tired of always pairing the device with my iPhone 4S and was going to order the exchange unit from Wiggs but the link does not work anymore, does anyone have another place I can order these?
Kind regards,
