I think people are getting confused here
I new i should have kept the posts seperate .....i will try and explain
The postal service im thinking about would be an identical module to the D3 factory fit one . The 2 plugs are the same and just require unplugging and plugging in my module i send .
It would come with the latest sortware available from LR ...basically the same as if i proggramed it in your car .
This new software cures pairing issues and allows the phonebook to be displayed on the radio ..and the LCD panel on the dash .
This is realy for people with early model cars who have bluetooth , but have one or both of the issues above .
You would recieve one in the post ( and proberly the tool needed to remove the torx screw holding the panel on ). You remove the panel ( or one end ..) undo a screw . the 2 plugs and change it over .
Send the old one back to me and the tool ..job done .
For those who dont want to remove the panel ..i can still update the software ..but would need to plug my laptop in your car ..
These are the d3 bluetooth modules
If you want a new D4 bluetooth module ( which in my opinion is slightly better quality and has the ability to seperate the phone numbers into work / mobile / home etc )....i may be able to get some new ones ..other than that get on the phone to Nick at Yeovil LR and get one ordered .
Hope that makes sence ..any one still unsure what im on about ...just ask
Oh ..and the question about leaving the most connector out ( which is irrelivent in the case of a straight swap ) ..yes you would loose all the sound in the car .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hmmm ... I lifted that part no (and price) from my copy of Microcat.
I shall be watching this one whilst I am away - it may well end up on the 'to do list', along with the TV tuner ...
+1 for me !!!!! I need one !!!!
Do you have caller's name displayed on the touch screen ?
Fred
Not on the touch screen with normal D3 software .

Aftermarket (LR accessory bluetooth kit)
Bummer, so for my 2005 HSE (w nav, high line stereo) ,then I wont be able to upgrade? The vehicle did not originally come with bluetooth, but I upgraded it just recently with what is called here in the us the "factory bluetooth install kit".
Module I have put in looks just like the one in the pics, not sure if it had a most connector but i definitely dont see anything on the nav touchscreen in mine.

The aftermarket kit does not have MOST on it ....so no upgrade for you .
The kit that comes from the factory ( PTI ..personal telephone intergration ) was always a case of it had to be done in the factory . Main reason is the dealer tool cannot enable the option afterwards.
You can however with the aid of a faultmate ..fit the PTI kit ( a lot easier to fit than the aftermarket one aswell ) because it has the ability to switch on the relivant parts in the car CCF file .
I have done a couple ..and others have done it also ................its a much better kit G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Would the D4 bluetooth module work on an 05 FFRR? My Dad can use his iPhone via bluetooth, but won't display any numbers and has pairing issues as well. After seeing the phone book come up on my display, he would like it in his FFRR.

I can confirm that the software upgrade allows the Phonebook over Bluetoooth, as I've done it myself. And that was on an early pre-production module, too ...
For those with an early PTI system (especially if you're having 'Pairing' issues), this mod is a definite. Regards,

The only reason I ask is that I spoke to Land Rover about it and they said that there ws nothing that they could do as it was too old, which was why I asked about the D4 module. So, that means that Land Rover should be able to update the software for it despite what they say!
