Think mine on the way out as well, just ordered up the parts except for the nut VYH500020 as the dealer would only sell me 25!!!!!!!
Just been under to have a look and the how to starts to make a bit more sense now!!! My gearbox tray was only held on by four bolts so has been removed and a couple lost before, does anyone know the part number for these?
Cheers

Am attempting mine on Saturday assuming it isnt raining. Wont be replacing the linkage at this stage but just greasing it with a view it will be Ok for a while longer . Is it Ok to grease everything I think relevant or focus on any specific area ? I am guessing the actual cable needs greasing too to enable it to move forwards and backwards ? Any advise is much welcome also in relation to using WD40 or just spray grease ? Thanks in advance JamesJames favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

The cable does not need greased, it is the steel insert inside the plastic bush that tightens up

just did mine by taking a few bolts out an squeezing a can of lithium grease through the gap and squirted the affected part. still feels a bit notchy after doing it so wonder if the actual part needs replacing?James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

For what the parts actually cost, I would replace them every time. Lubing it up is only prolonging the inevitable My D3 Build Thread

Bob is NOT my Uncle! I'm a Disabled Veteran so this was a major undertaking for me and hard work (but for a short while I felt useful again). Took me nearly an hour to loosen enough of the cover and reach the stage when I could aim the canister through the gap and spray. Really chuffed with myself (although SWMBO gave me a good b******ing for being so stupid) when I finished. Not so happy when it slipped out of Drive on the very first corner! Oh well, I'll order the bits and pay to have it done properly.

Hi there,
I ordered the parts from TLO (Thanks) and took this to my local 'Non LR' garage as I'm short on both time and expertise. They have just phoned and said they can't get it undone as it is seized and they don't want to risk snapping the cable and being responsible for fixing the mess that would make. Anyone got any pointers before I have to bite the bullet and take it to a Main Stealer.
Thanks
