Is there a TSB for this, or is it just normal wear and tear? No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

Yes, you are correct the part number is LR012704
i was at home with vino in my hand so must have had a brain fade
Looks like the only way to get one of these at the moment is to get your dealer to critical and request line pinch
i done that yesterday and i should be getting before the end of this week.
You must get dealer to upgrade critical and since they have ordered already it's better for them to sort this for you TLO has left the building.......

Thanks for that TLO i will go pester them in the morning have had it greased and cleaned up by a local garage for the time being as it got a little dangerous especially turning right, getting half way across then no drive, and everything seems ok but would feel more confident with a replacement.

I have noticed that moving the gear lever over to Sport mode stops it from slipping into neutral. Not sure what additional pressure that is putting on the linkage though. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

I just had the Disco pop out of gear into neutral about 5 times this morning, more often when turning left and earlier on when the temperature was cooler.
I have contacted Caffyns in Lewes to order the part and they have said there are none available until 20th May at the earliest.
Anyone know where I can get the necessary parts from for this job? Porsche 968 Cabrio

At first sign of trouble I took my D3 to my independent garage with the pictures from this thread. Linkage cleaned and lubricated. Lever now moves like a hot knife through butter.

I sometimes have extreme difficulty getting the Auto Gearbox into Reverse, it's hard to describe but it feels like a "clunking" noise when trying to engage.. no problems though getting into Drive or Neutral?
Could this be the Lever Pivot?

Could be. Reverse is in mid quadrant though (P R N D). Certainly you can engage PARK otherwise you could not remove the "ignition" key.
Would suggest cleaning and lubricating the external assembly. Easy and quick job to do.
Hopefully this will clear the fauit. Otherwise sounds nasty.
Best regards.
Bernard.

Mikey, my car has started to lose drive at junctions, (much to the disgust of those behind me!), do you think that it could be the same cause. I have not noticed any stiffness in selection and the selector itself is not jumping out.
Cheers
