Mine is doing the same. Going to try autobox oil change with some DR.tranny.
I have heard of other possible causes for hunting, fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors, throttle body needs cleaning. Failing all that its torque converter.
Took it to the garage on Monday and I am still waiting to see if they can find the fault. It's due at the paint shop today but weather that will happen who knows !

I had revs fluctuation. I had 121k miles on the clock and we believe that transmission oil has never changed. After transmission flush by Geoff month ago all was sorted. Revs are climbing nicely when accelerating and not going up or down. I was advised not to add Dr tranny with new oil as it was pointless. True, I didnt and gearbox works flawlessly.
But if box is past the point of no return with burned oil, flush will not help apparently.Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone

Thanks for that. I hope it is cured with another oil change but I wouldn't hold my breath. I am not sure if the vibration on the overrun is caused by the same problem as the fluctuating revs.

Another oil change? It is recommended to change transmission oil every 50-70k miles.
Are we talking here about same oil?Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone

Good news ! Car is having new torque converter fitted at garages expense as I speak. It is then going to paint shop on Tuesday for door painting and then I should have it back for weekend or just after if I cant pick it up ( as next weekend is my busiest 2 days of the year because kids holidays start) So me and limping Lenny maybe reunited a week on Monday. I miss him already
I have just got my car back with new TC fitted and all is well except when I do about 70mph on the motorway and let my foot off the gas there is a slight vibration and a droning sound on the overrun which lasts to about 40 then goes. On A roads all is well and it does not do it at all as I don't go above 50. Has anybody any Ideas ?
