I went on a website called trovit (I think) and saw a lovely D3 SE in black. It seemed to tick all the right boxes apart from being quite a way from me in the Midlands but you had to open an account and pay to get the phone number or contact them. All seemed a bit strange to me

Don't know the site but I wouldn't be tempted to pay to look at a motor
Well, if its any comfort you now seem a mile away from your first post and seem to know what you want
The right car will turn up, it just needs the perseverance
I think you are right my friend I have narrowed it down to a black or silver HSE or SE Auto with less than 1.2 million miles on the clock full service history an 06 model but with cheap tax pre March I think, no dogs pushy or no show salesmen. Think that covers it !
GOT ONE ! I have bought a 2005 Silver HSE with 138,000 miles, one owner (A lady barrister from Chesire) Full LR service history. I looked at it Tuesday but the story of how it came about is that one of my friends owns a garage in Nelson and is a MG and Ssangyong dealer. In the past 15 years I have bought quite a few cars from him for personal and for my Buisness and have never had a bad car yet. He said when I first asked him that he would have a look but could not promise as he does not deal with landrover trade in,s anymore. Anyway apart from Ssangyong & MG he deals in up market cars and had an offer to buy one of his expensive cars ( a new Jag I think) but they wanted to trade in Disco 3 HSE. He rang me and I had a look and liked it although there are a few problems which are going to be resolved. There is a loose piece of trim so a new piece has been fitted, the glove box lid handle is broke so it has had a new lid, passenger side door mirror does not go in (ongoing) and last of all but most important is there is a warning light on the suspension. It all seems to work ok though ? The owner has said that they will knock out of the part ex price the cost of repairing it if Steve will do the deal as they must really want the Jag. There is also a slight bit of Lacquer peel on the passenger door so the door is going to be resprayed at the garage,s expense. I have been a good customer over the years so think this has helped with the deal. I have paid £8000 which when I compare this car to others I looked at for similar money i don't think I have done to bad. If its ready I pick it up today but that depends on suspension fault ! The door painting will be done when I return from holiday. The only thing it does not have is privacy glass so i will get rear windows tinted. Hell I am like a little lad at Christmas and I,m 52

Great news that you've got one - and even better that the costs of the issues are being handled by the garage or knocked off the price!
The days until you pick it up are going to draaaaaaaaaag!Previously owned an '08 D3 HSE in Stornoway grey but jumped ship to see what the Swedes have to offer.

Fantastic!!!
Im sure you will have a great time owning it.
Waiting for the right one make sense.Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone
BMW x3 (62) x30d MSport - current
Just rang the garage and it will be ready late this afternoon as it is just having a full valet. I have said that the re-paint of the door can wait until I return from holiday in the Isle of wight. It will save me £250 on a hire car and give me purpose on holiday as I cannot sit still and get board easily. I will now have my D3 to play with and My wife, mother and son can please themselves. By the way suspension fault fixed (broken wire) Quite handy having Hill & Dale landrovers next door to them.

Talking of North Yorkshire my wife and myself our favourite place in Britain is the Ravenhall hotel in Ravenscar. We regularly go there and also to Robin hood bay, Scarborough and its got to be fish and chips from Whitby. I think my Disco will get used to going there. Is the off roading still done in Dalby forest ?

Just picked it up and problem already, I drove home down the motorway for about 6 miles with no problem then when i was crawling in rush hour traffic on an A road at about 20mph it started lurching back and forth , only slightly but noticeable and also the rev counter was moving back and forth between 12 and 17 hundred revs and you could also hear the engine note changing up and down. I think you would call it hunting ??? I turn right around and went back down the motorway and just caught them as they were shutting, I told them and took the head mechanic out and he said he could see hear and feel it so I left it with them and come home in an MG 3 (rubbish !) I hope its somthing and nothing and can be fixed tomorrow
