I can't say yet. We need to do a lot of work yet to get it right for sale first time as a perfectly working bug free product and also make it future proof as we have with kit 1. It will be at least 2 months.
If I buy kit 1 and then upgrade to kit 2 is there any difference in any way?

No, the final product will be the excat same.
The whole idea in having "add-on" kit types is so people can buy kit1 and then upgrade later to kit2 and end up with the exact same product as if it were purchased all at once.

Hi guys,
Well, i finally got my fbh controller fitted today, and indeed, installation is a piece of cake!
I connected the controller to my auxilary battery as my fbh is installed on that side anyway. (LHD)
Getting the green wire connected was easy aswell, there was no red wire connected to my fbh.
And with the help of the pdf posted by Pete, getting the blind out of the fbh connector was easy.
It started and run fine from the first try, really pleased with that.
Now, did anyone got his heated screen or hvac connected to the controller yet?
That will be my next job, but....dont know how yet.
Big thanks to Pete and all the other forum members for there posts which helped me a lot.
Thanx, Ruud, Happy are those who dream dreams and are willing to pay the price to see them come true.
Yep, still bits in progress, but we'll get there eventually!!

Hello Pete, the kit is the same for LHD that for RHD? This because the battery in model LHD is farther from the FBH. Thanks for the answer and sorry for my poor english.

Hi
Yes the kits are all the same, this would mean you have to extend the power and gnd wires to the LHD battery.

I'm thinking about buying one of these from Pete becuase they look great and the feedback from others sounds very good too. I have one question though: what/how is the control of the FBH handed back to the car? To clarify let me give you an example:
Its cold outside so I start the FBH from the remote. The dip switches are set so that it runs for 30 mins but after 10 minutes I need to leave so I get in the car and drive off. Assuming that the dip switch is set so that the BAS controller sends a shut down sequence when it senses the battery voltage change (indicating charging and hence engine running) it will shutdown the FBH. Its still below 5 degrees outside and the coolant is still below 75 degrees (or whatever the trigger temp is for the car to start the FBH itself, can't quite recall what that temperature is but no matter you get the idea). The BAS controller has already initiated the FBH shutdown sequence becuase it detected the change in battery voltage - what does the car do?
Does it wait for the shutdown sequence to complete (which I understand can take several minutes) and then fire the FBH up again under the car's control?
Its not a big issue - I'm more just curious.

Hi
There is a simple explnation of how the FBH is handed back to the car. it as you say shuts down the fbh due to the voltage sence inside the module and hands the fbh back to the car.
Then at the same time of hand back the fbh starts its 120 second cool down period while now the car is getting ready for it to fire back up. The car will then fire it back up as soon as the cool down is done.

Thought the explanation would probably be simple. Thanks for the quick and conclusive reply Pete.

In the winter I often connect the car to a Ctek battery conditioner/charger via the tow electrics. Would the voltage provided by the Ctek be enough to upset the operation of the FBH controller?
My thinking is that the FBH controller may mistake the cycling voltage increase of the charger for the alternator operating post engine start, or is the controller clever enough to look for a major drop followed by rise to correctly sense a starting cycle?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

The controller does look for a drop in voltage incase the battery is going flat it would cut the fbh off, and the same as you know for a positive voltage.
Im not sure if your charger will upset it but if it does its easly cured, you can use Dip Switch 3 and connect a INJ wire instead of useing the automative voltage sence. This way the charger will not affect the module.
