Had a quick go yesterday at putting the green lead into to FBH connector and i had a hard time getting the red wire out. I did the procedure described in the extracted PDF page (pushing the pink plastic) but the red wire was very hard to get out.
Is it just a matter of using more force to get it out?Mods so far:

If your D3 already has a wire in pin 2 then that can be used, just cut it. Older D3's used the wire to control the FBH but a software change removed that functionality and the wire is redundant.
I am sure Pete will be along soon to confirm.

As above you can use the red wire if you wish by cutting it from the main loom and attaching the green wire to it.
Removal of the pin from the connector is very fiddley but can be done, you need to make sure that the pink clips are moved all the way accross or the pin will be locked in the connector, also make sure you have presses the small catch that is on the pin its self, this will let the pin slide out of the connector.
Thanks guys, i'll give it another go and if it don't work i'll resort to cutting the wire Mods so far:

yes battery on the right if looking from the front of car
you may need to extend the green wire to run round to your FBH.

I used a paperclip to push in the metal tang on the red pin 2 whilst pulling quite firmly on the wire. It was tricky but it came out cleanly - third hand would have helped.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
Since my battery is on the other side i'll run an extended cable to the battery and place the unit in the spare battery box, that way i can hopefully use the same cable if/when i get a dual battery setup .
I was trying to follow the original red cable in hopes of finding where it connects in the other end and plug in there but it wasn't an easy job so i gave up on that idea.Mods so far:

Pete,
I saw no socket or suchlike on the controller to add the GSM module for kit 2. Is the box designed to be taken apart by the end user to add the kit when it is available?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Hi
If you want to add your own gsm module there are to places inside the box on the pcb for you to connect the 2 gms wires to. If you are intending to do it let me know and ill create a pcb picture for you.
Finally got the time to fit it, was an easy job and it worked like a charm on first try, great product Mods so far:
