Hi Guys , this is my first post on here š forgive me if my technical knowledge is minimal ! I have a 09 D3 140k miles sheās just had a full service of her transmission as a problem with rear Diff (2k all correct oils etc ) She now has fluctuating revs and a judder when either holding a constant speed (towing ) or climbing the hill to our house .
Can anyone tell me it that sounds like a failing torque converter or does she need a new gearbox ?? ( sheās had most other parts !).

Tip:
We have a āsay hiā topic here.. to introduce yourself..

Regarding your TC questionā¦ simple; yes.. it is failing..
Some say: flush it, some say put an additive in itā¦ MHI: that is only a temporary fix, āifā it works..
Fit a new or refurbished one for long time fix/repairā¦ Best regards

Good evening
I've just got my disco and I have the judder from my auto box.
From what I have read on here a flush and maybe some tranny to be added to my new atf.
I'm Sheffield so could anybody point me in the direction of someone in my area that could carry out the process.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks Daz

OK, here goes.
Gearbox oil and filter changed at 10year service by LR, now 7 years and 50K more miles I had a gearbox judder towing caravan back from Devon.
Checked various threads on here and decided to check oil level and add some Dr Tranny.
First error was to check oil level without engine running, resulting in an oily arm and drive https://disco3.co.uk/forum/images/smiles/icon_whistle.gif
Anyway this time with engine running added 1 tube Dr t and 1/2 ltr revanol HP oil, result was instantaneous and no issues towing caravan to Cumbria and back - result.
Question now is:-
A) Do nothing
B) Drain gearbox and refill + Tube Dr T.
C) Drain replace pan and filter refill +Dr T.
D) Power flush the system.
Any thoughts or recommendations.
Cheers

After 7 yrs definitely replace the filter, fresh fluid and possibly 1 DRT, i would do a fluid change every 2 years if you tow a van regularly.

Thanks, thought that might be the first option.
Re oil change, until I read these threads I assumed LR know what they were stating IE every 10 years or 150,000 Miles according to the service sheets.
Think I'll be doing more regular oil changes.
Wont be towing for a few months now so might wait for warmer/dryer days before doing a gearbox pan and filter change. [/list]

Hi guys. I had similar problem. Mechanic adjusted belt and its worked fine until few month ago. Now I have new problem:
Gear doesn't change. I start car select drive. Car slowly moves forward but then hear doesn't go up. Rev increase dramatically, engine is screaming n then hear changes to second third etc. Until I slow down or stop. Sometimes it's happens even if I just ease acceleration. It gets worse when im driving up the hill. That's when it's cuts off completely. Or when I'm turning corners. As soon as I turn the wheel n start accelerating revs goes up a lot and gear won't change until I straighten the wheel. Gear oil been changed a year ago.
Any help will be much appreciated.
