does this modification also take care of the fact that the pre-2010 models could not stream music via bluetooth?

No ... You still don't have any software in the car to make that happen

hi, i'm interested in getting the bluetooth fitted to my '06 SE.
i don't have the buttons on the steering wheel or nav screen, but i do have phone button on the radio.
what would i need for a complete/functional setup to use bluetooth with factory stereo? Is there a place i can find the installation instruction as well?
can i get this in US?
Thank you for the info!

To retro fit the factory kit you need
Bluetooth module
Most cable
Steering wheel phone buttons
Mic
It would need enabling once fitted
I wouldn't bother with the LR aftermarket kit .. Complete waste of time ( as in your other post ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Really?
For some reason i thought that bluetooth by itself would make more sense and less hassle? is it really that bad?
Thanks

back to the d3 to d4 swap, maplin sell single pin mother board extensions, which are a short length of wire with a male plug on one end and a female socket on the other. these can be used between the new module and the existing plug. codes are g075 or 146-69470
put a photo in my gallery of them, hope its useful!
