Finally...Its working Very Happy
Many thanks to all forum member that have contribute to this modification, specially Mr. Wiggs who also has provided the MOST cable. Main problem to me was the fact that initially the IIDTOOL was not able to enable car mic. Now it can with latest version. 2nd, cabling from car mic to back of radio was broken somewhere so I sorted it out using cabling from the aftermarket kit mic and connecting to back of radio as recommended in this forum.
Still does not have contact names in small lcd screen, but love to have access through the radio to all contacts in the phone, and all kind of information as provider, signal strength, etc. Thumbs Up

Nice mod Wiggs, looking to get one for my 2006 RR S/C which from what I've read works as well. I'll drop you a PM.

Cheers,
Wayne

I bought a D4 module from Wiggs, and Mick fitted it for me. The system works fine, except for one little bug bear, which is that people say they can hardly hear me. The microphone seems to pick up a lot of background noise/echo/road noise, and not too much of me. I basically have to shout to be heard, and even then I udnerstand the quality is poor.

Is there anything that can be done to improve this, or is it just the way on all LR vehicles?

Could be a phone volume setting while in Bluetooth .. Or duff mic ... The sound is normally better with a D4 module

I wondered whether there may be a setting of some form in the car's computer which would increase the sensitivity or volume? Have you come acrss that at all? I don't think it is a setting on my own phone (iphone 4s). This points to it possibly being the mic then Sad

Nothing in the car apart from the normal volume

There used to be a setting for Bluetooth volume which would only show while you were in a call ( on iPhone )

But apple removed this a few software versions ago .

Yeh, it is only an issue on outgoing sound, i.e. what the mic picks up. The inbound (i.e. through the speakers) is very clear.

What volume do you have the phone sound on when talking? I find that anything over 15 and the recipient hears more of themselves than me.
Otherwise a Wiggs already said, the d4 module is much better audibly than the d3 mofule Thumbs Up

That's a useful tip, I shall try it as I suspect my radio is normally around 18-20 and I do not think the telephone is much different. I already ahve the D4 module, this is what I bought, and I believe what would have been standard on my vehicle anyway as a late D3 just before the changeover.

I shall give the volume thing a go.

I have installed the D4 Module with the Wiggs P&P most loom and had it enabled today with a friend on an autologic. Its on in the config screen and after a bit of back and forth it stared working. Tested ok.
I got back in the car and drove away and it was gone again.
The radio and nav continues to function so I know the module is powered as without it the most loop stops working I am a bit stumped.
Thinking that the power source I picked of the fuse box may not be powering up the module in the right order? I didn't have a piggyback connector so tried a vacant socket. I'll try source that today, but any suggestions folks?
My D3 is a 2004 build. Are there other updates that might make a difference?

Thanks Wiggs. Do I need to disable the wrong option before enabling the right one?

Does anyone know how to swap between paired phones with the new module fitted. Im stumped other than disconnecting then reconnecting each phone manually. My FL2 was far easier!!

Can anyone who has upgraded to a D4 module clarify the following:

1) Of the large number of wires going into the D3 module, is it safe to assume all red / black wires are power cables and can be tapped into? If not, any easy way of identifying them?

2) Does it matter which way round the live and ground go on the 2 points on the new module?

Thanks
 Tony
