This is one of the best threads for either the D3 or RRS, and one of the best/easiest mods as well! Thanks to all who contributed!

Well......I have finally got some time tomorrow to try the aftermarket kit removal, followed by the install of the d4 module and most adapter cable.
Expect a few questions on this thread when it all starts to get confusing tomorrow
Please be on hand Wiggs to help me out
Looking forward to finally getting decent Bluetooth in the d3. Colin

Comc,
Visit page 44 of this thread and look for Wiggs' gallery post. It has pictures of what you'll need to build...it helped me a ton! This is by far one of the best mods you'll perform.

Wiggs,
Here's a question for ya. Why can I hear my custom ringtones over bluetooth, but not play music via same connection?
I know the reason, just wondering if there's a workable hack to allow it.

Usafbuckeye.....thanks for the heads up. I have researched this task to death believe me, I was just waiting for the brave pills before proceeding
Well after 2.5 hours this morning, I have successfully removed the old aftermarket kit and installed the d4 module in its place. Biggest pain was removing the old loom from behind the stereo as it was in pretty tight.
My one and only question now is.........now that I have connected the most to the d4 module along with a new power and ground, all that is required is for it to be enabled ( hoping to ask flack to perform this at the Scottish meet up on the 15th).
In the meantime, should my phone pick up the availability of the module before it is enabled, or does it need feed from the most cable to properly fire up.
At the moment with everything in place my phone does not find the module. Is this correct or do I need to revisit my power and ground connections?
Any advice would be appreciated. Colin

as long as you have audio and the nav screen is not stuck on the LR logo then you have it connected correctly .
You should not be able to find the bluetooth ( as its not activated yet ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hello Wiggs:
I have the LR aftermarket Bluetooth kit installed (steering wheel buttons, mic, voice module, etc). It works perfectly but as you know is very limited on its functions. My radio unit is the 6cd changer with MOST cable connected at the back. Can I upgrade to a Disco4 Bluetooth using one of your MOST cables and enabling with faultmate or equivalent. If yes, how can I purchase one of those cables? Do I need anything else for this to work? Please be advised that I don't have navigation.
Cheers!

you would need to remove all the old aftermarket kit ( except the steering wheel buttons )
move the mic over to the cars wiring insted of the aftermarket kit wiring
get a new bluetooth module ( D4 is easiest ) and a most cable ( you can plug it in the radio if you dont have the nav screen )
and yes it needs enabling
Pm me for most cable details G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wiggs, I take it the reason I didn't have to perform this step earlier today was because I have voice control fitted which already has its own mic connected to the car wiring, and the MOST setup for the d4 module will use this mic as is? Colin
