Hi,
I'm new to the forum (and to LR's) and would like to upgrade the Bluetooth module in my MY05 Disco 3 HSE. I believe it's the PTI as it pairs with 2121 (from reading other threads).
Wiggs has been recommended to me by a happy previous customer so advice and costs would be gratefully received!
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Wiggs,
I really hope you can help me. Here is my problem. I have an LR322 2004 Vogue with the factory fit D3 nokia phone module mounted above the SatNav in the LH rear luggage compartment. Long story short the common problem of water ingress has played havoc with all of the electronics in this compartment. After 3 days with DMM and soldering iron I now have all systems up and running apart from the telephone.
I do have pairing issues but an older Blackberry connects automatically and transfers contacts etc. My newer BB connects when it wants to and when it does it displays contacts OK along with dialled numbers etc. I am presuming that a software upgrade will sort out the BB connectivity for the newer BB.
However the above is not the main problem. Once a phone is connected I can dial out and all indications on the touch screen look good. The radio or CD mutes but then all I get is silence. No ringing tone - no audio whatsoever. Well this is not strictly true as it did provide intermittent sound once for a fleeting moment.
So my question is do you think that the D3 module is faulty or perhaps the Harmon Kardon amp?
The D3 connector did have signs of water damage (green corrosion on the pins) but the circuit board inside “looks†OK but clearly water has got in there as there is corrosion on the metal ring on the board that mates with the metal shield. I am loathe to fork out big bucks for a new D3 unit or even a D4 which will do the job if it is another module such as the amp that is faulty.
Any help and advice greatly appreciated
P.S. Do you have the wiring diagram for the 54 pin connector on the D3
Yours Ian A

If you don't have any issues with the radio / cd ... Then I'd say deffo the Bluetooth module ... Especially if it's had water in
Its also showing the symptoms of an early 042 model number module

Well this is a huge thanyou to Wiggs.
I received the D4 module today from Wiggs and fitted it with the supplied cable and hey presto everything worked exactly as advertised.
My Blackberry connects automatically every time. I have the signal strength on the display and even the speech recognition works perfectly. The audio quality is excellent. All contacts and call history automatically upload.
In short everything that Wiggs has said is absolutely spot on.
I have gone from a completely duff infotainment system with only the Land Rover logo displayed and the power LED flashing to what is now a fully functioning system with CD, Radio, TV, Satnav and now phone all perfect.
If anyone has any doubt about upgrading to the D4 module please banish them as this simple and cost effective mod has truly delivered.
If anyone has problems such as only the logo displayed I will post a troubleshooting guide.
Thanks again to Wiggs
