I think people are getting confused here
I new i should have kept the posts seperate .....i will try and explain
The postal service im thinking about would be an identical module to the D3 factory fit one . The 2 plugs are the same and just require unplugging and plugging in my module i send .
It would come with the latest sortware available from LR ...basically the same as if i proggramed it in your car .
This new software cures pairing issues and allows the phonebook to be displayed on the radio ..and the LCD panel on the dash .
This is realy for people with early model cars who have bluetooth , but have one or both of the issues above .
You would recieve one in the post ( and proberly the tool needed to remove the torx screw holding the panel on ). You remove the panel ( or one end ..) undo a screw . the 2 plugs and change it over .
Send the old one back to me and the tool ..job done .
For those who dont want to remove the panel ..i can still update the software ..but would need to plug my laptop in your car ..
These are the d3 bluetooth modules
If you want a new D4 bluetooth module ( which in my opinion is slightly better quality and has the ability to seperate the phone numbers into work / mobile / home etc )....i may be able to get some new ones ..other than that get on the phone to Nick at Yeovil LR and get one ordered .
Hope that makes sence ..any one still unsure what im on about ...just ask
Oh ..and the question about leaving the most connector out ( which is irrelivent in the case of a straight swap ) ..yes you would loose all the sound in the car .
Hi Wiggs,
I'm new to the forum too having just bought an 05MY D3 HSE last month.
I have a factory fitted bluetooth which won't stay paired to my or my wife's phone (iphone 4s with iOS 5 & iphone 4 with iOS 4). I have to enter the 2121 pairing code everytime I start the engine.
I've had the bluetooth software upgrade on the D3 but no joy.
After a lot of forum trawling I've realised that your the man to speak to.
I'm thinking of getting a new D4 module as I like the idea of better quality audio. Can you supply? What are the costs? Do I need a modified harness or can I improvise?
Your help is much appreciated.
Cheers
Billy

Bluetooth upgrade
Hello Wiggs
Hello everyone
Unfortunately my FFRR 10/04 (Touchscreen Navi) is fitted with the XVJ500042 BT-modul, witch would not pair with my Iphone 4S (OS 5.1).
Can you sell me a Iphone 4S compatible Kit?
Best regards from Switzerland

Hi,
Would the D4 bluetooth kit fit into the 58plate d3 xs that i am about to buy that has ' no phone fitted' - did i read somewhere about the satnav unit getting in the way?
If it does fit in and work could you tell me how much £ etc

Do you get your contacts on the radio display ??? If not I would suspect you have not had the update done ( was it a dealer who told you they have done it? )
Have pm'd you regarding D4 moduleG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi ...yes the D4 module will fit as long as you have the 6 disk radio ( dosent matter about the screen )
I can supply the modules and a plug and play most cable ... You would still need switches and a mic from LR
It would also need enabling which I can do G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

d4 in d3
hi wiggs,
I'll find out about the radio and be in touch.
I have fitted a couple of these BT kit Wiggs supplies and its a very good kit, it comes with all what you need to fit the module, I removed my old D3 module and fitted the new D4 and the difference is huge in sound quality and in use..

Hi Wiggs,
Thanks for the PM.
I asked the garage to do the update as I thought it might remedy the pairing issue. The told me that they have done it and they've invoiced me for it. There's been no change at all since they say they've updated it. Sounds like I need to take it up with them.
D4 bt kit looks really straight forward. Will go for it, PM me with payment details.
Will I need a proper update to get the D4 module to work or should it just plug and play.
Thanks
Billy
