Just been reading all the work you have done fitting phone kits.
I have just bought a D3 HSE has no phone kit but the usual buttons on the radio.
The dealer said it had phone prep but clearly not. I would like a list of bits that I need to go back to them to see if they will supply, as they now say it cant be retro fitted, But Im will ing to have a go.
I am guessing the D4 kit will work with an Iphone and would like to fit the LR kit.
Can you provide a kit list? Part numbers would be really appreciated. If not can you supply????
I guess I will need to fit:
Steering wheel buttons,
Mic
Bluetooth Module
Anything else??
Thanks

I think i saw you had voice control already so what you should need is:
Bluetooth module d4
XVJ500230
Steering wheel phone switch
XPD500510WVH
A MOST cable to connect the bluetooth module, i got a plug n play one from Wiggs, not sure if he still has them.
Some cables for powering the bluetooth module (have a look in Wiggs gallery)
You will also need to activate it and for that you need a Faultmate or someone with a Faultmate and a multi vehicle license to help you.
It works with the iPhone (i have a 3Gs) Mods so far:
D4 Bluetooth module + mic + sterring wheel controls
ACM
BAS remap
Roof mount DVD
4x4 info activated

Ok I took the plunge and thought as I'm replacing my steering wheel I might as well get the switches from the TLO at the same time. Got a D4 bluetooth unit on order too but I also would like the MOST plug and play cable. Don't suppose someone has one spare as wiiggs is on holiday and I'd like to do it all in one go this weekend. I'll send you out one when he is back.
Also looking for someone in the Southampton area who has a Faultmate to enable the unit for me
Thanks,
Al

D3 Bluetooth Module Upgrade |
|
Hi Wiggs,
Thanks for all your efforts in improving the current bluetooth solution on the D3. Can you confirm if your still offering the D3 module software upgrade? Am considering purchasing a D4 module, but have more pressing list of bits and bobs so looking at other alternatives for the shortterm.
Regards,
Paul

Thanks for feedback. Where are you based as your current location shows you as "On hols"? If feasible to come to you or somewhere mutually acceptable, how much silver do I need to cross your palm with?

This all sounds interesting stuff and I've been looking for a handsfree setup for my D3 for a while.
Is there anyone on here who can fit a decent handsfree kit for me. Ideally I'd like one that is the same as a factory fit, and it apppears that it might be possible. My D3 is an April 2005 HSE. It has the HK sound system and all the usual voice control of the navigation / radio etc.
I have been looking towards the Parrot kits but if it's possible to have a less obtrusive installation, with good quality reception, then I'm up for it! I currently use an HTC phone.
If anyone can help me, please let me know..........
I'm in NW Kent / SE London area and happy to pay cash!
Cheers.

D4 bluetooth on a D3 withouth bluetooth installed? |
|
Hello ALL
I'm new to the forum (and very happy to have found it!!) and new to an 07 XS D3 that doesn't have bluetooth installed.
Am not sure if my query is already answered here - I couldn't see it but apologies if it is .
Can anyone kindly tell me what are my bluetooth options?
Would I be able to install the D4 kit and what are the costs?
Thanks

Hi,
I know it's a big one but if you read this thread all the way through it mentions all the bits you need and more
First do you have a Speech Recognition button on the steering wheel? It's on the left hand side. That means you will have the mic already installed. You need need to purchase the right had phone switches (the red/green pickup/hangup buttons), you need your VIN for this as the switches are colours codeds.
Then you can get a D4 BT unit from the forums member 'The Large One' and get a plug and play MOST cable from 'Wiggs'. You'll also need to come up with some wiring for the 12v power supply to the BT module.
Alternatively you can install a 3rd party bluetooth for a huge saving but it won't be as good probably.
Cheers.

I have a Range Rover 2007 Vogue if I switched to the D4 module would it just be a plug and play? I also have a NAV-TV unit (the module that lets you watch DVDs while the car is in motion) hooked into to the Navigation unit fiber optic loop. It works fine with the current Nokia module but i want to make sure that won't affect it. Will I need to upgrade any software?
Thanks

D4 module is not plug and play ... But it is very easy to swap
No software update is required and it will not affect the nav tv unit G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi All,
I've got a 2005 D3 HSE with all the phone buttons and bluetooth. I can pair my Blackberry 8900 although I have to do this manually by entering the 2121 code each time. I can't upload my contacts list and just get an error message on my phone saying 'unable to locate object push server'. My phone is running V5.0.0.1036 (platform 5.2.0.104). Any help in improving this set-up would be much appreciated.
