Hi All
Sorry if you have read this somewhere else. I have just bought a Discovery 3 and it has not got a factory fitted bluetooth. Is there someway of upgrading to this or should I just go down the route of a parrot?
Cheers

Yes you can fit the Bluetooth as long as you have the 6 disk cd player head unit
You need
Bluetooth module
Steering wheel phone buttons
Steering wheel voice button
Mic
Bit of most cable
Power for Bluetooth module
Then it needs enabling... Dealers can't do it .. You can with a faultmate
Pretty easy to do .. I have some e instructions somewere G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thankyou Wiggs. Yes I have a 6cd changer. Are these items readily available from LR dealer or is it better to search the web or forums like this?

Hi Wiggs - thanks again. Do you think this is going to be the better (Cheaper option)? If so do you have any of the bits or can you point me in the right direction.
What is a faultmate?

Faultmate is a diagnotic kit that has the ability to change settings that LR can't
Factory fit is much better than the aftermarket stuff ...
Cost ... Depends what you can get the parts for
I only have the most cable ... Look at this post for a list of stuff you need

Thanks for all your help. I have now read the full thread (from page 1) and it seems like the better option is for me to approach someone like "The Large One" for a quote on the bits you mentioned:
Bluetooth Module - D4
Steering wheel switches - Phone & Voice
Mic
MOST cable from yourself.
Power Supply - is this a ready-made up cable or do I have to make something up?
Faultmate - to activate - do you know any of the members who can do this in the Essex area or is this a trip to Wiggsville?
Lastly I have followed a few redirections that lead to various instructions - I consider myself to be pretty handy is the install of all these bits a specialist job or something I should be able to manage? Are there instructions for the Mic & Steering wheel bits?
Sorry to keep going - one of the reasons I upgraded from a 7 seater people carrier to a 7 seater 4*4 was so that I could launch my boat myself so I have also bought the LR electrics kit and I am busy buying the detachable tow bar from one of the site members. As my D3 did not have this installed will I still have the additional fuses box in the rear compartment or is this something I need to buy separatley? Will this also need to be enabled?
Finally I have kept this in the open forum as I found reading all the bits from the original thread very insightful. If I am meant to be PMing you please let me know.
Thanks
Sylfest

Wow - thanks for the prompt reply and instructions. I am just waiting for Nick to get back to me with costs etc. for the bits. I would then like to arrange to buy one of your MOST Cables and for you to put me in touch with the person in Kent please.
Thank you again.

Wiggs,
I got your name from a chap on rangerover.net that goes by the name of Flashman. He mentioned you as having the DVD for bluetooth flashing and the proceedures to do it. My question is would you be willing to send me an ISO/Image of the dvd and update process so that i can possibly rewrite some of the code to perhaps bring audio streaming to our land rovers as a first. If you would be willing to work out a deal, i would send the software back to you for the installs over in the UK. Currently i am in Hawaii and would setup a server for you to upload the iso/image to. Please let me know.
I wouldve PMd you but being new i wasnt able to. thanks in advance.

Unfortunatly you have the wrong end of the stick ...
There is no DVD ... I have an expensive diagnostic machine which I can reflash the bluetooth modules with the latest software...
The software files are supplied in the correct format for the diagnostic machine by the the diagnostc supplier . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
