I have a d3 2007. It is a SE but it has the nav, bluetooth, and voice command. I would like to upgrade the call quality of the Bluetooth speaker phone. Talking on the speaker phone is not as clear as newer cars. Would the d4 module upgrade the call quality? What does the D4 bluetooth module in the D3 mod cost for the hardware? Thank you for the help.

Holy Grail (Working Bluetooth) |
|
Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong place but I'm tearing my hair out trying to get the bluetooth working on my 55 plate RR.The car phone in the cradle works fine. My local landrover independant has tried a new module in but still no bluetooth. I have tried pairing with my iphone and a nokia 6230 but still the car doesn't appear in the list.
Now I have seen that a later module can be fitted, with a bit of a wiring change. This may be better than spending a lot of money trying to diagnose the problem.
Any ideas?
Regards

Unnecessary quote removed
Ah ok. I presume that turning it on can only be done with testbook or Faultmate?

The independant is going to look tomorrow. They also have some autologic kit as well so hopefully they can take a look.
I'll let you know tomorrow. Thanks for your suggestion.

Fitted D4 module in Full Range Rover 2007 |
|
Just fitted the later 2009 (D4) module to my Range Rover Vogue HSE TDV8 (2007) and can confirm that is MUCH better than the old Nokia one (it had been upgraded with phonebook software but was still poor in many ways).
Great stuff, out of interest the BMW multipole plug from the later bluetooth modules fit the FoMoCo module perfectly and I found by separating the two halves of the plastic case and by drilling a hole in the bottom half that I could fit the new module it the excat same place as as the older module.
Thanks for the work done to find this out!

Hi, Have you got a part number for this D4 module?
I'm hoping to get the original working first but I may not bother buying the upgraded Nokia module.

Thanks. Are there any pin out diagrams for the connectors old & new?

Yes - you can actually see these from the firt posts of this thread, basically it is:
PIN 15 ON THE NEW MODULE (GROUND) GOES TO SOCKET 33 ON THE OLD BLUETOOTH CONNECTOR
PIN 31 ON THE NEW MODULE (BATTERY +) GOES TO SOCKET 16 ON THE OLD BLUETOOTH CONNECTOR
I chose to remove the old connector and splice in the new connections and removed the old cradle wiring also as there is a rubber mat and blanking plug to hide these in the central cubby (order as per 2009 Range Rover).
Of course the MOST fibre ring just plugs in as is.
Regards, Geoff.
