Wiggs thank you so much, you are not only a fantastic guy for doing the mod 10 years ago, but fantastic for still having the patients to support people doing this mod for the first time now 10 years on... here is my results
IID had to set CCF to bluetooth with cradle, the most wire i got off ebay around £10 the power wire i used JST P2 connector these i got for around £4 for 10 sets (will be used for other mods)
Had it in my head that this install would be slightly different once something is in my head very difficult to change it, but certainly worked, objective to install bluetooth unit in void by gear lever
Firstly to pull apart H trim and trim around gear lever
Then to look at fiber optic cable, this is more sensitive then a wire, it can be curverd but not bent, im careful on install but should i need access in the same area for something else i wouldnt be as careful, the fiber optic loop slide down the plastic support for radio on right hand side, i taped it together leaving a loop at the bottom then slide it down, i had to reroute at the top to avoid contact between MOST cable and H panel
Then with the grinder i cut off the 4 locating holes on the bluetooth unit, while this is out (if following this) cut a line in the plastics bottom left hand side for the MOST and power cables, this allows for the cables to be fitted and never need to move them out the way
Something i personally did find (common knowledge or not i am unaware as yet) if you dont have your heater panel fitted in the car it simply wont start (will order a spare heater panel incase the car one day wont start, will put a post up somewhere else about this)
I took an earth feed from the 12v socket and my 12+ feed from fuse 58 as advice by wiggs
You can test everything works without key in ignition, simply hit power button on radio
Put everything back in and it was like i was never there

Hi I am also desperately trying install a phone module into my D3 2008 (SE). It has no phone to start with and I have already converted the D4 satnav successfully (thank you wiggs for your other thread on that).
I have installed the D3 phone harness, module, old bluetooth and nothing is working. I want to put the D4 bluetooth module in but am struggling to justify purchasing the MSV-2 faultmate to complete this task.
Can anyone help? Sorry if I have done something dumb, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sketch - As your D3 wiring is the retrofit system VUB501151, this should work without a code reader/configurator. (providing it is compatible with your phone). It does not make use of the displays in the car. Use your phone to search for bluetooth devices while sat in your car with the ignition on I
As/if you have it fitted you may as well try get it working
Please start another thread if you want help with getting this system working.
Otherwise as you have D4 Nav the only other LR option is a D4 BT, see pictures above from Lukie.
Usually people put a post in the IID section, with title, "CCF edit required in Farmborough"
and then in the post say to enable D4 BT

Hello to you all! I have been learning so much with this forum and thus very grateful. This is my first post and hoping for assistance.
I'm tempted to replace my D3 with a D4 BT module but I find a couple of different part numbers:
AH22 10F845 AA and 8H22 10F845 AA. Both have the MOST connections and are from 2010-2012 D4's. Is there a difference between the 2 part numbers? Should I be concerned about the year of the D4 from which the modules came from, regarding functionality?

Hello there,
My name is Max. I'm from Kazakhstan. I have been reading this forum for a long time. I need some expert help with how to install the Bluetooth module in my D4 2010.
I have an LRD4 2010 - S edition. 2,7L
In five years of car ownership, I installed front and rear seats from RRS, Facelift 2016, rain and light sensor, steering wheel (heating) from RRS, Heated windshield, and now I want to install a BT module.
I bought D4 with base multimedia (Black small screen) without BT but with a new engine this point was very important for me ))
For BT installation I bought some parts:
1. steering wheel with phone control bottoms
2. microphone in the overhead dome
3. BT module. (looks like D3 module)
I thought I bought all parts, but it's not so.....
At first, I installed the steering wheel, Cruise control, and heating working very well. Next, I plugged a mic and removed the right back panel in the trunk. I was surprised when I have not found wires for BT.
What do I do?
Should I try to find wiring under the carpet or I must buy this part of the wiring? What else could I be missing?
I hope for your help and sorry for my English.
Thank you!
