I guess you don’t have an optical fibre network in your car? (Behind radio). Orange tubes. ?

The D3 and advanced D4 units require optical bus
I believe you can fit the basic D4 unit, See page 74, into the front of the car.
But this thread isn’t about that. And I understand it’s not that great

Well what a fantastic forum this is .
After reading all eleventy million pages of this post, I decided to install Bluetooth .
Fitted it in the front using Wiggs piggyback fuse set up, changed ccf and bingo all up and running.
I cant thank all contributors enough for saving me tons of head scratching and hair pulling especially Mr Wiggs Sir whose knowledge is beyond compare.

Hi,
A new member from Saudi Arabia.
I have a 2008 LR3 HSE, 6CD changer, voice control, Harman Kardon system with sub, but no Bluetooth and no steering wheel phone buttons.
After reading this thread, I have some questions before pulling the trigger.
What I understood is that I don't need the aftermarket Bluetooth retrofit (VUB501152).
Instead, I'll get:
1. Phone control buttons for the steering wheel
2. MOST Y-cable
3. BT module 8H2210F845AA
4. Connection to Fuse 58
5. Chnage the Bluetooth setting via GAP IIDtool (I have it on hand)
It should be a plug and paly (with IIDTool config).
Anything else I'm missing?
If I go this rout,I wii be able to stream music from my iPhone and I don't need the MP3 iPod Retrofit Kit (VPLFE0002)?
P.S.
I found this cable on Aliexpress and I don't know if it's the right one, would appreciate if someone confirm it.

OK, no Bluetooth streaming.
What about the other components?
Anything I'm missing?
Is the Y-cable on Aliexpress the one to get?
Thanks

If you want to stream music, these are very good - https://britishamericanconcepts.com - it replaces the Aux port in the centre console on a D3 and gives additional USB sockets for charging in the rear seats. I fitted this in the D3 and it has been great, I also have the iPod connector in the car and found that to be really annoying as it often needed resetting, and connecting a bluetooth adaptor to the iPod lead was a bit hit and miss. Must stop buying shiny toys....

Then the question is, can you connect your phone to both?
1. Bluetooth module for calling
2. VPLFE0002 or LRBT-1 Bluetooth from British American concepts for audio streaming

@asaad_as
Welcome...
Do not forget a microphone...... 8)
Regarding bluetooth streaming....
I use a bluetooth device similar to this...
https://www.ebay.nl/itm/193832664600
Using the aux, will do the job for 5 quid
Not as neat with a panel as the product as darrind linked to, but i bet, the same quality in audio.. as mine sounds very very well! You can mount it behind a panel and you never see it again Best regards
Harold

When making or receiving calls it uses the Cars Bluetooth if fitted
Streaming works like a modern Bluetooth connection and allows both to be connected and the phone will relink to the car when you restart etc. There is an additional mic connector on the back of the unit so you can have a Mic connected but as my car is a D3 HSE with onboard Bluetooth I just use that for all calls.
Works for me so far without issue, so much so that apart from having two bluetooth connections active when I'm in the D3, it doesn't now seem any different to the D4 I have.
I am just about to add CarPlay to the D4 though so my opinion might be updated when I get used to CarPlay on the D4 (Naviplus) Must stop buying shiny toys....
