Just fitted mine
Nice easy job, it took about 5-10 mins. One thing i will add is that when it comes to refitting the centre part (air bag) don't be nervous about pushing this back in, it does need quite a firm push, as i learnt.
thanks for the instructions.

Fitting with Parrot Car Kit
My first post!
Have been looking at the site for some time and have had the D3 for a couple of months now.
As I now need help I thought I better get posting.
I have a Parrot kit installed with an SOT-82 auto lead. I have also just bought one of these radio button thingys. I notice that leighmartin says you need to run a wire to pin 7 etc. Can leighmartin or anyone else let me know exactly what to to. What is pin 7? I am reasonably OK at this sort of thing normally but don't understand what is required. I certainly don't want to get it wrong and blow any electrics!

Thanks to alinton I now have the audio controls installed and operational in my '07 S+.
Much more convenient then reaching for the stereo controls plus needed for the LR ipod integration kit I am about to have fitted.
I noticed this evening when driving with the lights on that the new audio controls are not backlit like the buttons on the cruise control......anyone retrofit and have the backlight working? Perhaps the deale rneeds to enable the remote control to have this work?

And also very honorable mention to thehazards re: tool direction.

For the others who have used alintons excellent tip and retrofitted the audio controls:
When driving with the lights on are your sterring wheel controls backlit or not? Mine are not but, my (factory) cruise controls are. Factory fit audio controls are backlit.'11 SDV6 Discovery 4

I have just change the controls yesterday (thanks alinton!), and yes they are backlit, same as the cruse control. Regards, ANLR D3 S Black, Auto TDV6
Sorry Kevster My Mate. My new audio controls backlight in the same way as My cruise buttons. Check the plug & wires.

First post
Kevster, just fitted volume control on 4 day old 07 S+.
The new control is not lighting up. Before fitting the new unit I swapped out the mat finish horn button for the chrome version now fitted on the 07 blank unit.
When putting the control unit back together I am not sure which green contact board I put back in (but the controls are working). Is it possible the both boards have the radio function but board from the blank unit does not have led lighhts? ? Is that what happend to you?
And so I need to go througth the whole procceedure again?

Thats exactly what I did - I got the switch bases mixed up when swapping over the horn button.
Switch to the other switch base and all will be fine. The backlight is only active on the component that came with the buttons.....as you say the buttons will work with the original switch base but there is no backlight on this piece.'11 SDV6 Discovery 4

thanks Kevster. Now working & lighting perfectly.
Before fitting I recut a new tool with slightly longer handle (>20cms) and made sure the angled hook was just under the suggested 5mm. The airbag popped out in seconds this time round and the entire job took less than 5 minutes this time.
So anyone struggling to remove steering centre/airbag like I did first time round (>20 minutes! ), I would suggest re checking the your tool!!!!!!!!!!!!
