there have been lots of occasions where I've had to warn people,
does that include having to have someone walk in front of the motor with a red flag?

I think the D5 “haters” would really love one, but just can’t afford it, hence the jealousy, which comes out when they slag it off. Just saying.

I went to the launch event as a cash buyer. I don't buy anything on credit. I left in my D3 disappointed by what the D5 had become. I still have my D3 and wouldn't swap it for a D5. I don't hate the D5 but my D3 will be my last LR unless the Defender meets my needs.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

I would 'swap' it, but not if I'd have to pay € 110.000,- on top of which is € 50.000,- for the coffers of the State..
If they tax new cars like this, I'll stay as long as it goes with my dpf-less 279grCO2/kM D3...
But if they want to achieve the 'Paris' goals, I meet them half way and I'll buy one but tax free only ...

Thing is it’s all been heard before. I’ve had a variety of Discos and there’s always the die hards that decry the newer models for the slightest thing, happened with the D2 to 3 to the 4, now the 5, that is until they get one themselves. The 5 is actually a nice car that drives well.
The price is continually increasing and I suspect that’s putting most off and that’s got nothing to do with the functionality of the vehicle, be it sharp corners, position of the rear number plate etc. Okay, there’s always the exception to the rule, but on the whole I suspect I am not far off the mark. The denial is par for the course and was expected.

Well none of those put me off, dealers did though along with the engine lottery. I would look at it more that the D5 owners could have more money than sense DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

My D5 cost little more than the equivalent D4 model I had previously ...so I don't see the high cost argument.
It's clearly horses for courses ..afterall who'd of thought I'd see Paul in a Pepper Pig?
