Fitted a heated steering wheel to my MY11 D4. Managed to get a complete RRS one from fleabay with fingers crossed that it worked. Took the airbag off to find old style clocks pring - inevitable! Purchased new one (getting an expensive mod now!) and fitted today. Swapped over the switch pack facia to use the original D4 one with the heated switch so that it does not look any different.
Used the various guides from this site to find the heated plug wrapped in foam under the steering wheel cowl. Plugged all in and worked straight away without enabling - wiped nervous sweat from brow and had a cup of tea to celebrate. Checked all switch functions still worked - had a panic when the right hand side of the wheel seemed hot without putting on the heater , only to realise that it was in a patch of sunlight and absorbing the sun's rays .
Can't wait for colder mornings!
Thanks to all those who have gone before and gave me the courage to do this mod Discovery 4 Landmark ‘16
