I lubricated the turbo actuator arm. It's a tight squeeze.
I'm looking to fit a tube from the engine bay to the actuator arm so it can be done without removing the heat shield. I assume if I do it often enough the car will do the wiggling in normal use.

I have changed my auto box filter and oil. It's stopped my juddering and I'm now happy. Opted for the 2 piece filter. But had to add a drain tap as there was no drain plug. What a silly idea not to add one of these.

Found the squeak I've had in the boot for a few weeks, it's been driving me round the twist. It was the lower tailgate catch, bit of silicone spray and now I'm happy.

Was yesterday actually. I replaced the propshaft as the centre bearing was allowing the shaft flop about. The prop change wasn't particularly difficult although the rear diff bolts required some considerable force to release them.
I ordered a genuine LR part (made by GKN) . I was a little worried when the prop arrived with a Britpart sticker attached.

The propshaft does have GKN on various components. So hopefully it will be ok. The old and new shafts look identical.

I had the suspension alignment done using at Hunter machine in the afternoon. Amazingly it wasn't far out, consisting I fitted new arms and track rods. No pictures of alignment though.
Edit. I also changed the engine oil and filter. I've decided to use PSA spec 5w40 B2/ B3 full synthetic (thanks Steve at AF ) . I'll see how it affects the fuel economy. The the old oil was black without a trace of silvery flecks, hopefully the bearings are OK. The engine sounds quieter than it did, but any new oil can do that.
The Discovery really is a joy to drive now with nice positive steering and no propshaft vibration. Only downside is that I can now hear the rear ARB knocking. Otherwise all is good.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

I have put my new spotlights on 8) 8) (HELLA LUMINATOR COMPACT HD)
Great bit of kit, although had a lot of work getting the wires from the engine room to the interior.
Now it still needs an A-bar
cheers,
Jonas

Replaced the back brake disks and pads, adjusted the handbrake, took battery out to give it a charge and even had time to lubricate the turbo actuator! Also fixed horrible noise when you opened drivers side door! A good day!

Today I changed the nearside rear anti roll bar bush. This wasn't fun as the bolts were seized solid. After much WD40 and long levers, I eventually removed the bolts. The bush replacement was easy enough though. I gave the bush inner a nice coating of silicone grease to help improve its life. Replacement bolts were used that were liberally coated with copper grease, to prevent seizing. The offside wasn't any where near as worn and the bolts simply refused to come all the way out. I managed to loosen them enough to allow the fitment of one rubber spacer.
Next was to take the D3 for its MOT.
Thankfully it passed without any advisories.
While there I popped into the pit for a quick inspection myself. I've found some areas that could do with a clean up and repaint. I'll wait for summer for that job though. I've decided to change the brake pipes for next MOT too. Overkill but I'll know it's been done so one less thing to think about in future.
