Has anyone managed to survive more than the first 5 or 6 minutes before swiping to the end to see if there’s anything worth spending 1/2 an hour on?

Well that’s 36 mins of my life I’ll never get back again.
To be fair, LR said it wouldn’t be revealed until it’s ready for production in case the Chinese copy it. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

LR is approaching its “Pandora” moment, when its pursuit of “premium” pricing exceeds its customers’ willingness to pay. I believe LR has seriously misjudged price elasticity in its core market. It’s trying to push its prices too high for Defender and Discovery. Trim at near Range Rover Sport levels in new Discovery might appeal to some customers but alienate other - possibly longer established and more numerous - customers.
The recent LR range is too much “metrosexual”. Talk of safety standards driving design in this respect is nonsense. MY91 110 CSW, so long ago I can barely remember it - sold

When you chase sales based on fashion, prepare to die in a pretty dress. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I’ve just arrived home full of eager anticipation. Started reading from about page 5. Very entertaining posts full of witticisms and a badly parked white D5. Nothing has happened. What an arze. What an anticlimax. Going to watch telly. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Opportunity cost is hard to assess, but I agree, DG. However, I’m a LR customer who bought several of its cars over several years, and who is now seriously considering other manufacturers because the LR USP is diminished. Cost/value is a key reason, affordability is not (I could buy a new FFRR for cash if I wished). Simply put, the new cars do not appeal as their predecessors do.
