wiggs,
i've just located one of the LR4 bluetooth units, inspired by your modification I want to do the same.
Can I make up a 2 wire lead from the existing 3 row plug to go to the new 2 row socket and if so which pins do I need to connect to ? and if not where would I pick up the live and earth please.
Also, how do i remove the panel in the boot area please.
Lastly - is it possible to view the phone book on the main touchscreen ? or is there an 'upgrade' for that ?
thanks for your help.
are you ever in suffolk area ?

There are 5 pins if you just have bluetooth ( a few more if you have the cradle aswell )
Pin 16 is the ignition / wake up wire and either pin 33 or 34 for ground .
Yes ..just make up a jump lead from there to the new d4 module ..or pull the plug apart ...there are 3 rows of connectors in side
Another advantage of the D4 module is that you can put an active call "on hold" with a pull of the green button, effectively muting the mic. I was always surprised this was missing on the D3 unit. Very handy if you take part in lots of conf calls Andy

Wiggs,
I have made up some cables to plug in to the new BT module. How did you connect in to the existing plug on the loom ?
Thanks,

I stripped the side panel off and found the BT unit, I unplugged it, then I came to unplug the MOST cable, and I was 'most' careful, is there a trick to unplugging the MOST cable, I was very wary about damaging the cable or connector. Thanks

Connected to old d3 connector with some small thin pin connectors .
You have to press the tab in on the most connector
tab is at the top right of the red line ... would need pushing over to the left ..looking at that pictureG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
