Thanks.
Did PM the large one but haven't heard from him (yet). Will send him a reminder.
If the autologic doesn't work I guess I can try the local dealer, but that's not free of charge... www.skienklinikk.no

No .
If you already have voice control ... Then it will still work after d4 module is fitted ( as long as you have full voice control .. Ie radio / nav / cd / phone ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi Wiggs
Thanks for your advise yesterday I was wondering if you could advise the best way to progress to enable me to get the Bluetooth to work with my iPhone 4.
Yesterday you said that it would be best to remove the aftermarket dealer fit system and install the factory fit system which would work.
All I really want is Bluetooth connectivity which auto pairs and can be answered and ended via the steering wheel green and red buttons.
The units were in the locations you said, either side of the centre consol:
1 off Land Rover - XVD500021, SW v1.5
1 off Nokia RX-1C
Can you please advise if fitting the factory fit unit is possible into my 05 D3 HSE which will work with the iPhone 4.
Can you also supply the parts that are required to fix my system and fitting instructions?
Thanks

Easiest is get a D4 bluetooth module ...about £170 for our site sponser Yeovil LR
You need a bit of most cable and connectors ( i have a plug n play lead i can supply )
connect some power to the module ....then it needs enabling ( i can do this )
You should already have the mic , voice button and telephone buttons ..so leave them as they are .
The old aftermarket kit wiring loom and 2 modules need to be removed though ..as the wiring will clash ...very easy to do
Thats it ...you will then have factory bluetooth ...phone names will show on the radio and little LCD display on dash ....and you will be able to voice control it .(will also show signal strenght and provider on radio )
here are some basic instructions for fitting the plug and play most lead

Hi Wiggs
It sounds a simpler install than the aftermarket dealer fit system that is in the car now.
So you only need one new unit and the old two will be redundant.
Is all the control required handled by the MOST cable and the steering wheel switches and mic don’t need to be reconnected to a different point.
I will try and get in touch with Neil at Yeovil LR and get a D4 BT box ordered.
How do I purchase the MOST cable from you and also get you to work your magic on the D4 BT box?
Will it cause a problem as I do not have a roof aerial due to our car having a glass roof?
Thanks

The install is a lot easier than the aftermarket kit .
It was deemed impossible due to the fact the dealers can't activate it ... It all changed when the faultmate came along
Yes one new unit ... All controlled via the most cable . Mic and switches stay were they are
Nick ... Not Neil
I will pm you regarding the most cable and activation
Don't kneed a roof arial .. Bluetooth dosent use an external antenna G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Great thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.
Never been good with names but better to get it wrong here than when I ring him up even though it will now be immortalised on this forum forever......

Wiggs,
I have an Australian D3 MY09 SE with the phone button on the 6 stacker but no phone controls.
Could you PM me all the parts i need to obtain to install bluetooth for my iphone. As an aside where is the mike hidden in the install?
Look forward to your reply.
Cheers

Yes it can
You need a d4 Bluetooth module , most cable , steering wheel telephone buttons .
Add some power and ground to the Bluetooth module and get it enabled with a faultmate .
Easier to fit than the LR aftermarket Bluetooth kit G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi all,
I have the most up to date D3 bluetooth pti software, and a Blackberry 9780 (v6.0.0.600, Platform 6.6.0.233)
The two dont seem to like each other! The phone connects by entering the code (2121) and then after a few seconds a message appears saying bluetooth connection failed. Apparently this is not uncommon amongst black berrys.
What id like to know, is...
Has anyone upgaded to a d4 module, who uses a blackberry 9780, and does it work!?
Im really looking to get my pairing issue cured but thought it best to check before i shell out for the d4 unit.
Thanks,
Matthew

Yeah, they can be a bit tricky, I don't know why blackberries seem to not like D3's
Try this:
make sure it's set to discovereable, then try deleting the
pairing, then search with the ign on, enter the 2121, ,select always accept
automatically, which will fail (as yours did).
Then walk away from the car & wait until the car goes to sleep:
Before the bluetooth on the car is activated, before you unlock the car or if its open
before putting the keys in the ignition, search for the car which will fail.
Then start the car and it should connect
You may have to once more promt the phone to connect under Bluetooth
options.
Let us know if this works, as I am interested what phone models need this procedure
Regards
Steve
