Audio Configuration
First thanks Geoff for your replies.
Does anyone know how to change the settings in the audio unit to remove the need for a Phone Mute signal? If I just remove the yellow wire from the After Market Kit the unit goes in to Phone Mode unless the old kit is powered up. How can I change the setting to standard as I am guessing it was changed for the kit? I know another member just added a power feed but this should be changeable?

Ref to bbyer post on page 58
Maybe I have confused different things?
I have the mute issue below.
Quote
Hence the big question is why does my radio need power to the MUTE pin whereas on I presume all other Land Rover radios, the MUTE input need not be connected, let alone powered?
My only guess is that my radio must need a software update to tell it it ignore a lack of power on the MUTE pin.
If so, (and that is the real question), as I have the Nanocom Evolution, I wonder what software download that might be, or is there some button clicking/knob twisting procedure on the radio head to change defaults?

Hi Guys
Just purchased my first Disco 3 HSE on an 05 plate, with all extras apart from bluetooth.
So i am Just about to purchase the VUB501152 bluetooth kit from the main dealer at £264.00
But i was just wondering looking at all these posts, will it work OK with my i phone 6 and does the kit come with full fitting instructions of where the units are mounted ??
If any one out there could give me any advice, that would be great and very helpful.
Regards
Steve

Thanks for the quick reply on this, but not heard of the d4 kit, and can I get this from the main dealer and if so do you have a part number for the kit or do you know where I can get this kit from. How much are they.
When you say it's better, in what whey?? And will it connect up straight forward?
Thanks in advance for your help on this.
Cheers

Hi Wiggs
Sorry to bother you again. Firstly thanks for your quick reply to my last post.
I was too quick to post on here when I had not looked back on all the info about the Bluetooth problems.
I had no idea it was a real issue with bt on theses cars. I also have an 08 Range Rover which the Bluetooth just works, so I thought it would just be a simple job to just add bt to this disco.!!
So I have just spent the last few hours reading back from the start, all the posts on this.
I now have it clear in my mine what is needed, I think? But would just like to confirm a few things before i move forward.
First, my 05 HSE, has a 6 disc CD player, it as No phone controls on the right of the wheel, but does have the voice button on the left on the wheel.
So do I just need the D4 module, the most wire system (from you if you still do them) and programming
?. No need for a Mic?
If so, can I purchase all the parts from you? Or do I get the d4 from TLO?
Also if you can supply me with the cable, can you include the power cable fuse kit thingy to?
Fanaly, as I am in Berkshire, is there anyone this area that can do the programming after fitting?
Sorry for the long winded post, but it looks like you are the man when it comes to this.
If you could also let me know costs and how to pay.
Cheers pal
Steve

Auto logic settings for the bluetooth
Hi guys
My new d4 Bluetooth kit comes tomorrow and I am going to get right on the case and fit it.
My local garage has an Autologic system and will switch on the Bluetooth for me.
My question is, goes any know, is it just a case of switching on Bluetooth, or is there any other settings in there that need switching on too?
When I was reading all these posts, I think a read that someone said you have to inable the phone cradle ? But I cannot find that post anymore.
Can any one help me with this info
Cheers

Settings should be something like these
in infotainment change these setting
Voice Control - fitted with voice control ( hosted via the multi-media module )
Microphone - fitted with a microphone
Cellular Telephone - cellular telephone docking station , with bluetooth
Bluetooth - bluetooth enabled ( should already be like this )
Multi Media Module (HLDF) Manufacturer Mode - landrover mode
Some may already be enabled if you have voice controlG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

The MOST cable just plugs straight in, the power cable needs to be adapted to suit the different connector of the new unit. A simple cable can be used as described by Wiggs in page 44 of this thread, however I chose to try and use the original type of latching connector, this is the same as used on the satnav computer unit. Finding one of these is difficult as they seem not to be available from Land Rover.
Chassis is pin 15 and battery pin 31
The Tyco part numbers are:
Connector shell 929053-1
Contact holder 968265-1
Crimp contact 963726-1
They are available, although to be economic I would need to order about 20 with about 8 weeks lead time.
Thanks for this, I ordered one from Mouser Electronics, shipping was more than the parts costs but worth it as I hated my quick fix.Series 1 V8

Came upon this thread via the fullfat forum. Most intriguing - may be a worthwhile upgrade to my fatty I suspect.
