I asked my Belgian dealer last week for an upgrade, and they told me that they already have a version 13-5
More news when they call me back!

- the pre- heating/cooling menu is gone...
- a little i is displayed all the time...
- Engine is less stable but more powerfull...
- Airco is better
Why is an i displayed?
Will the pre- functions come back in a later upgrade? LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN TRY TO SURVIVE

this post http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=48041#48041 gives you info on the 'i'......
you may require further 'patches' - now up to patch 3 to restore engine stability, although so far, no-one else has commented on this.
Bear in mind that the engine and transmission ECU's will have to re-learn your driving style so it may appear a little more 'edgy'
Oh, and welcome!

I got 13-5 some days ago, but the peheater / precooler is in the settings as in the past (and it doesnt work as in the past )
And there is no "i" in the display.
My dealer told me that it is the version 13-5.
Can somebody post a photography of the display with the "i" ??
thanks

Mine now has WDS 13 patch 1+2, not 3 because apparently LR pulled this from their download site.
No i , I still have the preheat/cool (not tested yet if it works) and a much better engine response is the result after more than 1 hour of upgrading the engine, gearbox, navigation, airco. I don't have a new MPG figure because I haven't done enough kms/miles yet...

I apparently had WDS 13 patch 3 applied yesterday to cure the FBH smell. It only took about 20 mins which sounds a bit quick from what others are discussing. It seems that the way to cut out the smell from the FBH is to automatically close of the vents on starting, however, this morning it was cold enough for the FBH to kick in but the vents remained open to the outside ( by which I mean the recirculate button remained off ) can anyone who has had this patch advise me whether their recirculation button automatically activates when starting on a cold morning to prevent the odour? I have also noticed that the pre heat/cool function still remains in my menu?

Matt, sounds like they only updated the HEVACs ecu, to rectify the specific issue you identified, some dealers will patch all modules to the latest level, some won't, it all depends upon how much workshop time they allocate to each vehicle and how many vehicles are wairing for diag. time

Thanks 10.4.£. I guess that as the car has always run so well and fault free from new then I should leave well alone. My only concern would be if TC does his bit and I then get the dreaded "i" symbol due to the incompatability issues between software versions would he be able to update the suspension software etc etc, problems problems!

So funny thing happened while buying wheel cleaner at the local fossil fuel centre.
Chap (Michael) from LRCC (Mondial) was filling up. Asked him a question about the battery backed up sounder and was it poss to configure the car to use the horn as in some countries.
He said it should be... where do you live and I'll pop round after my next call and have a look.
So an hour later he turned up, plugged in and proceeded to upgrade EVERYTHING from his sparkly new WDS 13 v5 disk - my last update was WDS 13 v2
v3 was removed as it did not work correctly... v4 skipped and v5 is VERY good.
Apparently he does this as a matter of course now as it avoids many red and orange lights on the dash - thus making his life easier
So what I now have is :
A VERY perky engine with NO lag when changing from 1st to 2nd gear anymore
A tighter D3 when cornering - big time, feels even more like saloon car handling
A D3 that will accelerate instantly now. Turbo lag has been adjusted away apparently.
NO NEED TO WAIT FOR THE BONG anymore when starting up - system checks updated to be ready far faster so does not get confused if you just turned the key all the way and fired up. Previously you HAD to wait for the bong at start up before firing up the engine or error could occur.
So all in all my D3 feels like a new(ish) beast to drive than it did a few hours ago.
MANY thanks to Michael for doing this for me - top bloke !!!
And the alarm ??? well cannot be changed... damn.
Cheers

Are you sure about V5? Patch 3 has been re-released as 3v2.

On the nice little Dell laptop the system stated WDS 13 v5... asked if this was patch 5... was told yes... dunno maybe just semantics over version numbers... ??
Definitely patch 3 was not good... and this disk one was the latest and was a very good set of upgrades.
LR tell them to destroy their old disks as soon as they get the new ones... my chap always keeps em just in case. If the latest disk is bad... either sw has bugs or physically the disk is not good, he can at least use the older known good one to get customers on their way again.
All I know is that this is the latest disk that is available.
Every upgrade was done, D3's were hooked up to supply reliable power.
All existing sw, settings etc are downloaded to the laptop before any new sw or configuration files are uploaded.... just in case they need to revert to the pre-existing settings.
I still have my pre heat and pre cool menu items in the Settings Menu too.
The errors codes were checked and WDS even stated that my tailgate release switch was faulty... which it is - micro switch has failed.
I even looked at how many KM my D3 had done in each TR mode too... very clever.
All error messages and vehicle data is logged and sent to LR for analysis.
Following the visit I really feel confident that LR are receiving large amounts of data each time one on these guys plugs in and interrogates the vehicle.
And my D3 feels much much better... permagrin re-invigorated !
