So does the kit of [arts come with the air vent bezels? The new model ones seem much shinier (more like chrome) than the older dull grey ones on my 05.

The H trim is at it says mate..........it has the wood section joined to the vents and shelf below the SATNAV screen......and all the grey is replaced with a silver colour resembling chrome, especially around the vent rollers.
Hope that helps

not exactly mate....The only thing you need to do is when you remove the standard trim you then need to remove the vent cover, cup holder (if you have one), light switch.....All easy to remove with torq screws and replace on new trim....
The side trims are mainly Black with the silver again around the vent knob

Yeah...sorry I wasnt clear - I meant do the "vent knobs" as you call them come with all three of the parts - i.e do you get four shiny new "vent knobs" when you buy the kit?

Thanks Jason!
One more question if I may! Do you know if the switch section (the switch panel with the red hazard warning light switch and the PDC switch etc in it) - is available as either dark grey as well as black??
The one on my 09 model is black - but I'm pretty sure (car isn't here at the minute - in getting a new diff!) that the one on my 05 is dark grey!
Might look odd if the upper panel is black and the lower radio and air con section is dark grey.

If you order through Nick, he will ask a few questions regarding the colour and what type of switches / buttons you have as there are many variants.....The Switch you need is a square one from the Range Rover, as there was'nt one for the D3 then......Your colour probably the same as mine was grey....Nick will sort it, just PM him and he will contact you mate

Can I ask a really stupid question?
Does anyone else think that the smaller sidevent pieces should be two-tone the same as the H centre section?
I personally think it would look better if all four vents were surrounded with the material/colour - as in the original spec.
So on JCB's picture
It would be silver around the vent and the thumbwheel and black around the light controlsSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

OK, it's a long story... but my straight grain wood kit (including replacement HSE grey square switch) is now for sale here:
The good news is that if all goes to plan, my nearly new D3 will now have this a standard, so the old battleship grey will return for trade in...

Well you can use a dremmel tool, that little handy craftman tool with loads of attachments, but I suspect you have'nt one. Once you cut it though you have to glue the wood back to the H trim you are fitting.
Personally I didnt cut the tab off as its a locking tab holding on the wood, I just offered it up to the dash with pressure so the tabs scratched the inner dash (you will not see the marks when done), removed the new trim and then got the largest drill bit and drilled one hole either side in the marked area, job done
What if I take a dermal tool and grind that additional clip down instead of opining a hole in the dash, the reason I ask is I am afraid I might make the hole too large and open up a whole new set of problems. Please don’t laugh I just don’t want to mess it up and have squeaks beneath the dash as a constant reminder of my F_ _ K UP

dremmel holes into the inner dash, if you make them large enough them the clips will go through and not rub, therefore NO SQUEEKS........if you cut of the clip then the wood will come away. its the clip that holds the wood to the internal trim piece, I would'nt cut it off mate, if you get it wrong the wood will come away or probably rattle n squeek
