OK I installed the dash Kit it looks great, I couldn’t wait I had to do it as soon as I finished work ……………One of the center a/c vents won’t close, it looks like the inner flap inside at the rear won’t close. What do I do now??

That's a straight swap and clips into the new trim so it shouldn't have changed, was it working before? Just pull the centre H piece off again and check the little cog on the back of the adjustment wheel is running properly onto the teeth at the bottom of the flap. It's possible to knock these so they don't mesh together properly. I did notice when I fitted mine that the centre vents are marked left and right even though they look identical, so I wonder if fitting them the wrong way around would make a difference? The mechanism is very simple to see and check so it should be obvious what's stopping it unless there's something catching at the back. Other than that I can't think... 2005 D3 HSE

Thats exactly the fault Crews, tis a bit flimsy on the vent control, and very easy to knock it off the teeth, and very easy to sort out

Guys
How long should the whole switch-over take - assuming I take my time and don't rush!
Thanks!

30 minutes maximum....20 if you don't have to modify the existing mounting points to allow clearance for the longer clip. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

hi, new to the site just building my shopping list of "mods" to make once I have mine.
I really like the Piano Black trim but all this talk of rounded and square has me
So if I want to retro fit the Black Piano do I have to change the top swtiches to the squared version ?

Yes
It's a long thread, but just read through the first page or two and you should find the answers to any doubts you might have.

Well my kit arrived today - excellent service from Nick.
However - just for the avoidance of doubt for anyone considering this upgrade - and contrary to what is stated earlier in this thread - the kit DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ROUND VENTS - unfortunatley one of the main reasons I went for this kit was my mistaken belief that the side and "H" sections came complete with the round vent's themselves (I have the 05 with the earlier "dull" type of vents - rather than the later more polished type on the 08/09 cars) - and I wanted to update my car to the later type - where in fact you need to remove the old vents and refit them to the new Piano Black/Wood trims.

Before I pull the whole dash apart - can anyone remember what size Torx Tx bits I need to remove the parts off the back of the sections and switch bank??....just so I can check I have them in the old tool box FIRST - if not then I will put it off until I've bought the requisite Tx bits!
Thanks!

Nobody has asked me this before The trim panels are vent trims...not replacement vents
It would be possible to replace the vents with the newer design trims @ £92.75 for all 4 vents. TLO has left the building.......
