It’s had it’s feet up at the dealers’ for the last two weeks.
We are awaiting revised engine components to make it work again. The bits haven’t been made yet and nobody has been able to suggest when they might be available yet. The dealer is doing everything that they can, but they can only fit the parts that LR provide.
I won’t go into the details just yet, all dependent on where this ends up, but it all starts with a persistent engine management warning lamp, with the car drifting in and out of “restricted performance” mode.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I’m praying to the gods that I get a D5 loaner and not the dreadful DS, the Velar is back in at the dealers in a couple of weeks.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

RM, I hope it is fixed soon. But at least you are used to the trials and tribulations of JLR ownership!

Following RM & J77 ownership woes of new LR products doesn't make the best reading for LR does it!
I suppose at least they are keeping you reasonably happy providing loan cars etc

@jimbg: Thanks
Yep, you're right, this is not unfamiliar territory
I've previously cut them a fair amount of slack and in return, they've looked after me. Let's see if they live up to expectations this time...2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I had an Evoque for 9 days a few years ago whilst my TDV8 was in with the dealer. As a vehicle for 2 people it was fine. Not much room in the back and the boot was small but for two people - not a problem. Vision out to the sides and rear was limited by the too-small glass the design provides. To drive, it was fine. Went well, handled well, brakes were excellent.
I can see why the Evoque is popular as a second vehicle, certainly.
I've got a DS today from my indie. My RRS is in for a gearbox flush. The DS is ok. Seats aren't the best but I think it's a low-end model. Goes alright, nice a stable at speed, tyres are a bit noisy (Pirelli Verde all season). Radio is ok, sat nav works well. Would I buy one? No, but only because it doesn't fit my needs. I can see why they're a popular vehicle, however.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

RM - The Evoque is OK, though would prefer like for like or at least something with a bit of comfort but it SHOULD only be in for a day. It’s just snagging, really, stuff that was supposed to get done before it’s issues with the EGR valves.
My dealer thus far has been pretty good, I haven’t pressured them and given them deadlines, I’ve let them get on with it at their own pace. What’s killing the Velar is software.
The tragic thing is, despite looking at Volvos, I would take another LR but next time I’ll stick with poverty spec, it’s what I usually buy and they’ve never required dealer attention, though to be fair it was the oil dilution that killed the D5 for me.
Discussed it with my salesman, looked at D5 S Si4 but going to wait and see if anymore info comes out next year about Defender. The Velar might be working as it should by then 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

You're right there, I've had an expensive loan car for the last 2 weeks and it's certainly saved me some mileage and wear & tear on mine, so that's a positive The time it takes them to fix anything complicated is a cause for concern though and I'd certainly hate to have to be paying for all of this!2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Interesting answers there RRSTDV & J77
The SDV6/td6 is a nice engine, but both of the td6 D5 loaners that I've had have asked for oil changes at 5,000 miles It would seem that the very latest emission regulations are maybe just a development too far for this engine.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
