Hi I spotted a disco 5 commercial today , lady said it was a Landrover pr vehicle. Is she right? It had full commercial kit and looked like factory one with official stickers on bulk head

It could be, some dealers are taking orders for them but so far nothing official on the launch, if at all. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I’d be keen on this too.
Would this/is this model variant recognised by HMRC for VAT and tax purposes?
I note that it’s not listed on any of the van tax calculator type sites, for example comcar or next green car etc.
However I’ll make some enquiries with my local, and not so local dealer.

The D4 was so I assume the D5 would be recognised as a commercial by the taxman. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Little point making a commercial variant if you can't get the vat back... New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

Speak to Gary at Duckworth’s of Boston - apparently there are only certain dealers who will be offering the D5 Commercial and they are one of them...
I really wish that LR would give some information - it’s likely to be out really soon... I’d heard ‘December’ but simply couldn’t hold off any longer and am having to move elsewhere from 1st March.... many decades of loyalty down the pan! D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
D5 Commercial - Handed back when I left that job…
D4 Commercial (2014MY) - gone
D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue (also gone)
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys (gone to make way for the next toy...)
Smiles per Mile - Tornado Motorsports caged Evo 3... 100" Defender look-alike, with Range Rover running gear - all fully IVA'd and registered!

I’d agree! Unless you want to share your cabin space with a dead stag or a dozen pheasants!

I think it’s still classed as a car. Not 100% sure though. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I’ve previously sent a note to Nene (on a couple of occasions actually) via their web form requesting details of their RRS Commercial and D5 Commercial. They haven’t responded but I will give them a call soon.
If their offerings are listed on the V5C as ‘4X4 Light Utility’ rather than ‘Estate’ they should be recognised by HMRC, we need clarification though.
I’ve always ran pick-ups but I don’t need the ‘dirty space’ so much now and fancy something with a bit more comfort this time round.

Unless the base vehicle has an N1 classification, it cannot be retro-classified as such - anything that leaves the factory and is originally registered as a ‘car’ cannot then become a van.
Nene do offer a Volvo XC90 Commercial - to do this, they take new and unregistered (and unfinished) vehicles and then kit them out as Commercials prior to IVA test as first registration of a new vehicle.
There is a D5 Commercial coming from LR - it should be on the shelves very (very) shortly... D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
