Just fitted the Cruise switches to my 07 GS and it works without needing any activation! Hurrah! The buttons light up with the headlights which I thought was a problem for someone else. Thanks to TLO for the supply and you guys for the knowledge. One small thing - should there be any indication that Cruise is selected on the LCD dash message centre display? If so i don't get that.

There's no message in the LCD message centre, but you should get an orange/yellow cruise control indicator lamp in the middle of the speed dial.
There is no activation needed to get the backlights working at all - this should always work as it isn't dependant on the configuration at any time.
The results of installing the switches seems to vary depending on year/gearbox....some (usually later MY07 onwarsds autos) just work straight off, but don't usually display the orange indicator lamp until it is activated in the CCF....

TFC may not want to do it as from what i read he thinks modifying the D3 in such a way to take it away from its factory state especially with a CCF edit would be morally wrong and classed as upspecing which he does not do
I may be wrong about that but im sure i did read these simlar words somewhere on here.

That would be this
bambi wrote:As a newbie on here, i had the pleasure a while since of TFC to service my d3, and he pointed out that he did not upspec vehicles, so if you get an se he wouldn't upspec to a hse, Now i see the point of this as it means lr may only sell lower spec vehicles and then owners upgrade cheaply.

The Genesis system may be an option for you as i think it wont be that long before all functions are up and running.

hi
im about to get the cruise controls and install them, but im concerned....
Ive read most of the discussion here and it seems that LR dealers cannot activate them, unless LR factory settings were enabled (whcih i will notice as soon i fit the controls and see them working....).
Right??

@ abbyrob & others - i've just met up with flack and he has enabled the cruise control on my D3. Only took 15 / 20 minutes. It's a great upgrade to do, i'll be doing a remap next well worth it, straight from the horses mouth.

Is it easy to fit the CC buttons panel to Sept 2007 GS ? And does anyone know the part number for the buttons panel ?. I'm hoping the CC will be already active in software.
