LC200 Interior finish, much better than D3.
Whats the matter with the D3 interior finish?
I look at it being "practical" luxury as opposed to "plush" luxury. It is a 4WD afterall . Plus would prefer $$$ spent on handling and off road ability as opposed to a bling bling interior

Stevo
Not going to argue to much on the last part but I can match your $$$ not spent on interior and raise you more money spent on tow bar arrangement and less on 18"wheels and EPB.
But back on topic.
Finally finished reading the weekend Australian and they had an article on the new LC200 in the motoring section that was less than glowing, in particular the ride quality. I am suprised that the LC200 did not come out with height adjustable suspension. From memory when I first read about Kinematic suspension (10 years ago) it had the ability to raise vehicle height, in particular one of the boast was it could pick one wheel of the ground so you could change a tire without using a jack (Not that a Car company would want a vehicle balancing on 3 wheels)
I reckon the Disco 3 will start to take some customers away from Toyota when they start to compare apples with applesTrust me, what could go wrong?

Agree that they will make the disco look like great value. Toyota are good at marketing so they will sell.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

did you see the review in this month's 4x4 australia? it is not onlilne, but I will get it from home and scan it and post it.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

I've read it. Not much to say really. Could have got their info from a sales brochure.Have a nice day!

As long as there is a poverty pack mining companies will buy them by the truck load - but I haven't seen the appropriate specs for such a basic model

LC200 V8 twin turbo diesel Test driven
I test drove a Toyota LC 200 twin turbo diesel two weeks ago in Cairns
Pacific Toyota. The vehicle was only there for 2 days. The sales guy had not driven it before, since it only arrived
the day before from its Melbourne to Cairns dealer tour--neither
of us were impressed with this new generation Cruiser--I've just sold a '05 Sahara
and gone D3.
The LC200 suspension sits way too high and wallows -- not adjustable, as on USA product.
The engine lag was awful and I doubt the torque figures--same spec
as RRS V8 TD but heaps slower. The gear change was very slow also -- eventhough
it's a new 6 speed box.
The 5.7l V8 petrol is for the USA market only.
There is little change in equipment spec ie. no Bixexons, no ajustable ride damping,
Identical seating ergonomics AND Aus$14000 more(GBP6000)!
They didn't even want a 25 month LC100 SaharaV8 as trade--offered me k42 trade.
The Land Rover dealer gave me k57.
This is the arrogance of their market share position

Had a look under the bonnet of a V8 diesel landcruiser today
The starter motor ,alternator and turbo are
underneath the banks of cylinders at about the height of the top of the sump.
Can you imagine what will happen when you drop a 1000 degree turbo
into a creek crossing, not to mention the starter and alternator
The last Toyota I had was a 80 series with the 4.2TD 24V engine, it was a great offroad vehicle, on road it wasn't as good as the Rangie but still was no slouch. I used to surprise the guys in their Defenders and old Series Landies up on top of the Pennines quite regularly it's only down side was it's width, I had some problems with the narrow cart tracks over the hills. With a decent set of tyres and 3 diff locks she would go just about anywhere. When they "softened" up the LC with the 100 series I went right off them, they were better on road but really lacked articulation and had a weak front diff with no locker for it.
Anyway I put 113,000 trouble free miles on my 80series before selling it, so far it has been the most reliable vehicle I ever had and the most fun too

Many Companies will sell whatever the can get away with if there is little
competition in that country -- it's not just Toyota . Nissan,Ford and GM are just as bad !
