The vinyl sill strips seem to be holding up really well and I've had a cover for the roof awning made so hopefully I'll collect and fit that this week.
Next project is LED light bar into the front grille

I won a grille on ebay for under £10! so that gives me the chance to cut and fit in my own time.
I chose the light bar after reading this:
https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook...reserved=0
although on reflection it doesn't looks as good a unit as I had hoped - but proof will be in the output.
Got it from Amazon: http://amzn.eu/d/aTS88ea
This light bar simply comes with +ve and -ve wires so I plan to take the +ve from the main beam off the back of the loom; if all works as it should then I'll break the -ve wire into a switch in the cabin.
That's the plan anyway!formerly Disco3Ben

MK1 of the awning cover is fitted:
a little bit baggy, but now it's in place it's easier to tweak the design further.
still - pleased with it so far and I think it looks a lot smarter than without.
Need to find an all weather padlock now that will go through the prospeed bracketformerly Disco3Ben

Awning cover trimmed for a better fit.
Was chucking it with rain and windy when I took this pic but I’m very pleased with it.
Having gone through rebuilding the FBH again and finally getting it all working correctly and firing remotely it’s been a successful end to the week formerly Disco3Ben

thanks! I've actually sent that bar back and gone with another one.
the original one just didn't feel that well made - never fitted one before just something didn't feel right with it.
fingers crossed the replacement one is brighter!formerly Disco3Ben

I like the sills! How are they keeping and where did you get them?

split charge system finally up and working well.
Decided to solder in a fuse rather than use the scotch lock provided.
Also have a 16T crimp tool (bought specifically for battery cables) which worked really well for the larger battery connections, then heat shrieked.
Worked perfectly this morning - had the FBH in action via remote, which works really well but flattens the battery just enough to stop being able to start the car.
Pushed the 'LINK' button and then I could start up the car without bother.
I know there are probably bigger issues with the main battery draining but there is something smug inducing when you can jump start your car while sat in the warm drivers seat
Sits perfectly on the central dash, although it is a bit addictive watching it to see what's charging!

Back on the light bar.
I had originally thought about fitting it into the lower gap - but on closer inspection there was too much solid stuff behind the grille
so I moved to fitting in the top gap instead.
I did have to trim a small amount to get it to fit but all turned out well in the end
followed the contour of the grille well.
Am pleased with how it fits, don't think it's going to move much as I used larger washers and rubber washers to spread the load when fixed in place
Next step is to figure out how I'm going to wire it in.......formerly Disco3Ben

another job slightly ticked off today.
The Howling Moon Safari 2.1 awning arrived so I fitted it with some welded box section brackets.
The brackets are a bit rough, but good and strong enough to test for height and location front to back.
Also a good clean in prep for the Overland Show tomorrow
As long as it works as it should that will mean the Hannibal awning will be for sale, along with the ProSpeed brackets and custom cover. formerly Disco3Ben

Looks great, well done.
Out of interest, why have you changed the awning, any particular reason?

Thanks Mark!
Only reason for changing was that the Hannibal awning with the ProSpeed brackets sat on top of the rack
And this sits on the side - which means I can leave it on all the time.
Car is often in low height airport parking or underground city parking - both for work.
Shame really - spent ages searching for the Hannibal awning and really liked it. Just didn’t quite work for me on a work vehicle.
Hopefully it will find a good home soon enough!formerly Disco3Ben
