In a similar vein, (but slightly off topic) I'm wanting to get a set of Heko wind deflectors for the D3, but they seem to have stopped supplying to UK since Brexit. Does anyone know of a source? I would rather have deflectors that fit in the window slot rather than glue onto the outside. Emails to Heko have gone unanswered. Surely someone must be acting as an import agent for them? It's what I'm looking at but it just shows the farce of the whole thing. As for the price, it's pretty much the same across the EU.

Have you tried phoning a shop in Italy etc (assuming they are not direct from manufacturer)
I doubt postage, insurance, brake swap / check over (by a shop local to you) etc would be more than a few hundred quid. Not ideal... But a thought?

I'm in touch with the shop. I have a few options:
Fly out with a bike box and bring it back.
Have it delivered to an address in Europe and pick it up.
Buy it in the UK for £1600 more.
Two options are hassle and will cost about £400 the third is just unpalatable.
The bike is a LOOK 765 Optimum with DI2 that I want for the Mallorca 312 at the end of April. It's a quick replacement for a stainless steel bike that I was having custom made until the frame builder pulled out!
I need to order it now because of lead times and also to have time to fit new bars, wheels and have time to get used to it etc. However, it just really bugs me the premium we are now paying for Brexit! D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

And yet, Hugh, the Chancellor is suggesting that there will be tax cuts before the next election in order, no doubt, to try to buy votes.
Annoyingly, there is money enough in the system.
For example, "asylum seekers" cost c.£4bn (a bit less at last reporting but no doubt higher now than then). Cor, a lot of money and plenty of people don't like that being spent. However, Government spent £7.1bn on "R&D economic affairs" in 22-23. In comparison, it spent only £2.25bn on defence R&D in the same period. Why do we need to spend £7bn on R&D for economic affairs?
Oh, and let's not forget £106bn on central government debt interest.

Yup, I noticed that too. Thanks for the link Mark - very interesting reading.

I know people who are self employed, took every grant, loan and benefit they could during Covid but still continued to work cash in hand jobs or switched trades to drive delivery vans for a couple of months.
Toward the end of Covid a couple of them paid cash for a nearly new VW Transporter, a nearly new BMW soft top for their wife, a newly Ford Puma and nearly all of them jumped straight onto flights abroad which they paid for in cash. Worse still they then boasted about their new toys and their suntans.
Meanwhile I was still working a home key worker (Railway telecoms) the whole time, entitled to nothing, not given a pay rise for 2 years as not enough paying passengers and not given a bonus as again no passengers.
So in answer to previous statements on this thread, yes its time for a massive massive shake up in this country as we are now worse off than some ''3rd world'' countries IMO. 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

£421k owed gets 3.5 year ban from being a director, others with much smaller amounts owed have longer bans. Strange. I guess lying is worse than just simply not paying up. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I have no issue with taking the loan as long as its paid back .my company did and will be paying it back with interest till 2026, its the blatant thievery and then liquidatiing the business that is so wrong. thats an imprisonable offence imo. not many mr smith and mrs jones on that list tho are there ,as far as im concerned it showns the general intent and attitude typical of those nationalities .
This is the reason our once great nation has been dilluted and our social standards erroded to the current low level.
Of course as soon as you point the finger your labelled a racist but thats just how where all being silenced
you can certainly see how the far right gets out of its box when even middle england feels so aggrieved.
